The tour opens next Tuesday and it looks like it could be very good.
Bad news for Avril Lavigne fans on the West Coast — the Canadian pop star has been forced to pull the plug on six shows due to acute laryngitis. Adding in the cancellations of two shows from earlier last week, this brings the total of postponements to eight.
“My sincerest apologies to all of my fans," Avril said in a statement Saturday night. "My intention was to complete the rest of the tour but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realized this wasn’t possible. Even though I have been resting my voice for days, when I tried to sing nothing came out.”
In addition to Saturday's show at Anaheim's Honda Center, the remaining nixed shows are:
May 4: Universal City, CA Gibson Amph. At Univ. CityWalk
May 6:Santa Barbara, CA Santa Barbara Bowl
May 8: San Jose, CA HP Pavilion At San Jose
May 9: Spokane, WA Spokane Arena
May 10: Everett, WA Comcast Arena / Everett Events Ctr.
According to reps for the singer, refunds will be available at point of purchase on Monday.
It was the Last day's shoot for actors Natalia Tena (Tonks), David Thewlis (Remus Lupin), Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall), Julie Walters (Molly Weasley), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick) and Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid). The scene was in the school hospital and had Harry informing everyone of Dumbledore's death. And let me say what a chilling scene. I've not had goosbumps that bad in all my time on set. Julie Walters was fantastic. Ginny ran over and hugged Harry as he told everyone the grim news. Julie walters burst into tears, Maggie Smith was equally angry and devastated. I'm truly excited to see this on screen.
David Yates was talking to Julie walters about her coming back 'this time next year' and she asked about 'the line', he tapped his nose and said 'its in'. Now I'm asuming its 'not my daughter you bitch' from (DH)Film 8, which will also be given a brand new title. There's rumours doing the rounds that the Producers will ask JK Rowling to come up with a title for the 8th film! Anyway there was a little party for the actors, everyone was very supportive of Maggie who will be resting up over the summer. It was just a wonderful day all round!
...heading into the last week of filming and the last few days has been quite quiet. Today there was a scene with Draco, Harry and Snape, were Harry overhears Snape and Draco talking! Alan Rickman was great, there was a really nice quality to Snape and i cant put my finger on it but i felt there was a completely new dimension to his character in this scene. Evanna Lynch was also filming yesterday on a green screen in the comentators box for the quidditch match, complete with her hat. Evanna is always great!
I'm so glad Luna will be doing her thing at the Quidditch game, anchoring the game with her crazy Lion/Serpent Hat. ^^
Also, they added a new scene where Ron saves Hermione when Bellatrix tried to curse her. And another scene where Ron talks about Lavender and Hermione hears him and walks out of the room angry... which Ron then says "What's up with her?"

Ira Glass, Matthew C. Blank, Chairman and CEO of SHowtime Networks, Actors Edie Falco, Michael C. Hall, Tracey Ullman and Showtime Executive Robert Greenblatt, Head of Showtime Entertainment pose for a photo at the Museum of the Moving Image Honors Event honoring Matthew C Blank and James Schamus at the St Regis Hotel Grand Ballroom on April 30, 2008 in New York City.

Showtime Picks Up Tracey Ullman for Second Season and Commits to Production on British Comedian Marc Wootton's New Comedy Series
Two Series Join Strong Comedy Line-Up on Showtime
Do you love Tracey Ullman? Yeah, who doesn't? The lady's a riot. Showtime is so enamored of the Brit-com-queen that they've ordered a second season -- seven fresh episodes -- of Tracey Ullman's State of the Union. The network has also lined up another English artist for 2009. Comedy star Marc Wootton is locked in for six episodes.
"I won't hold it against them that both are from the U.K.," laughed Showtime prez Robert Greenblatt. "Tracey Ullman is the veteran genius who continues to impress us with her versatility, while Marc Wootton is the up-and-comer who will surprise our audience with his own unique voice. This is an embarrassment of riches for us in the comedy department."
Wootton's humor has been compared to Sacha Baron Cohen -- like Da Ali G Show perhaps -- with Wootton taking on a variety of oddball characters and passing them off as real people. For now the show is being referred to as The Mark Wootton Project, but it's just a working title. According to Showtime's release, Wootton's most memorable character is "an overly theatrical psychic named Shirley Ghostman who performs for an unsuspecting audience who think he's real on the BBC series High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman."
In addition to Tracey and Marc, Showtime also claims Weeds in its comedy lineup, as well as Californication. Three other new comedies are coming to the cable net, too: another British product, Secret Diary of a Call Girl; The United States of Tara with Toni Collette and John Corbett; and the Edie Falco project about a New York City nurse.

Though they may be listed among the greatest films of all time, these 10 movies deserve to be downgraded
By David Fear
Special to MSN Movies
Like the accepted canon of English Lit 101 touchstones, there's an unofficial list of classic American movies that gets passed down to each new generation of film lovers. "Citizen Kane," "Casablanca," "The Wizard of Oz," "A Streetcar Named Desire," "Singin' in the Rain" -- these are rightfully considered the high points of Hollywood's output. But if you revisit that roll call of yesterday's greats on a regular basis, you're likely to run across a few flicks that don't stand up to the test of time. There are true landmarks, and then there's the stuff that's been dubbed "classic" yet leaves you scratching your head as the credits roll. Wow, you think: So this is what I'm supposed to think of as "the best"?
We call the members of this latter category the "Unclassics": movies that have been crowned as the crème de la crème over the years but, frankly, no longer cut the mustard. The following 10 titles are all commonly name-checked as films of high quality and lasting value; we'll respectfully suggest that their status may need to be re-evaluated.
After polling a number of critics, colleagues and fellow cinegeeks, we've determined that 1970 is the cutoff point, and everything after that falls under the heading of "modern classics." If you've got suggestions for a list of "modern unclassics" -- and there are more than a few -- send 'em on in.
OMG....Lohan showed up, not on time, BUT early.
Lindsay Lohan began shooting her spot on ABC's Ugly Betty on Saturday, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.
She was so excited to shoot, a source tells Us, "Lindsay arrived on set 45 minutes early."
Adds the source, "Lindsay and America [Ferrera] really hit it off!"
Variety reports she'll play a down-on-her-luck old high school pal of Betty.
Lohan's first episode airs on the May 22 season finale.
Her rep tells Us the actress will also appear in multiple episodes of the ABC hit.
Looks like Lindsay's PR people are working overtime to get her reputation back.

A week after her controversial Vanity Fair portrait was revealed, Miley Cyrus rocked the stage – and thanked her fans – at the Disney Channel Games concert Saturday night.
"I hope you had an awesome time," Cyrus told the crowd after performing her set. "I saw a sign back there that said, 'Miley, I'm praying for you.' I could not be more appreciative. Thank you guys for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love everyone of you and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you."
Cyrus kicked off the night with "See You Again" and also debuted two new songs, "Fly on the Wall" and "Breakout," off her upcoming album, dropping on July 22.
Even the downpour didn't dampen the spirits of her fans, who stood in front of the stage and chanted "Miley" in between numbers.
The Jonas Brothers, the Cheetah Girls, Camp Rock star Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt also performed at the outdoor show, which capped off the week-long Disney Channel Games. The concert will air in July.
In preparation for her performance, Cyrus opted to skip Friday night's Disney Channel Games media party.
The hard work continued until just an hour before the show, when Cyrus – clad in a white tank top, white jeans and gold earrings – was spotted still putting the finishing touches on her routine and bouncing around on stage with her dancers.
A sign that says "I'm praying for you" ?? LOL
Courtney Love goes to hospital for checkup
after week of partying in UK
The 43-year-old made a 3am trip to an emergency unit complaining of laryngitis after living it up with Mighty Boosh comic NOEL FIELDING. Docs in Los Angeles treated her – but also asked about drugs and made her see a psychiatrist.
On the way home, despite her sore throat, she stopped to buy cigs. An onlooker said: “She looked pretty worn out". Frances Bean's mom, decked out in a giant doily, checked in to Cedars Sinai at around 3:00 AM Friday morning after allegedly complaining about throat and chest pains.
Love's rep confirms she was diagnosed with strep throat and then sent on her way. We're told the 90s rocker stopped by a gas station on the way home to pick up a pack of smokes and some toilet literature.

Poor old Glammy. You know if she actually does anything else to her face I'm going to go to the states and hit her like a spade. Maybe she'll be all like Meryl in Death Becomes her. Also, for shits and giggles:
The video was directed by The Brothers Strause who also did Love In This Club and have worked on movies like X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four, Terminator 3, The Day After Tomorrow and 300. It was produced by Tricky Stewart and written (co-written?) by The Dream. Here's a YouTube in case you haven't heard it yet:

Winehouse "furious" over Ronsons comments
Amy Winehouse and her team are believed to be "furious" with Mark Ronson after he claimed that she is not in a fit state to record music.
The producer said that his plans to record a Bond theme with Winehouse had been halted because of the troubled singer's ongoing health problems. However, a spokesperson for the singer hit back at his comments, claiming that artistic differences had resulted in the project being scrapped.
A source close to Winehouse told The Mirror: "Amy and the rest of the team are furious by what Ronson has said.
"Amy wasn't happy with the finished product and let her feelings known. The whole things smacks of sour grapes. Amy is more than capable of working at the moment despite a turbulent few weeks. In fact, throwing herself into her music is very much an escape for her at the moment."
Amy and Mark have previously worked together successfully on her 2006 album Back to Black and on a revamped version of The Zutons' track 'Valerie'
Q: Why do so many people hate you?
A: I have no idea why they hate me, and I sure don't have any idea why they love me. I'm completely clueless all the way around. In some ways, I'm sure, to a lot of people I represent that dorky kid in high school and middle school that everybody thought was a loser. And now there are plenty of people in the world who are bitter because that dorky kid became successful and they did not. It's kind of threatening when that nerdy guy you've been making fun of for all those years has somehow become famous.
Looking dressed to impress, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson caught a fan frenzy as they arrive at Bravo Supershow in Nuremberg, Germany on Saturday.
Despite being plagued with pregnancy rumours in recent times, Ashlee’s belly appeared conspicuously bump-free. Either her sven gali father Papa Joe was the source of all the gossip or Miss Simpson has been following the Nicole Kidman pregnancy diet!
Meanwhile, Ashlee has reportedly snubbed her big sister Jessica at her wedding. Well, her music at least.
The 23-year-old balked at the suggestion that she and Pete would party at their upcoming wedding reception to some of Jessica’s tunes. She tells Heat Radio: “No, that would be really nerdy.”
Sounds like Ashlee can’t wait to tie the knot though — The Mirror reports she missed Pete so much during her current London promotional trip she had him flown over from America.SOURCE

HOUSTON I LOVE YOU.
Don't believe the hype! When I started the show the other night we were having a lot of technical issues due 2 the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your DVD player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 go over and check it out myself. After the screens were turned off I started the same song from the beginning. The screens were eventually fixed 5 songs in but it was definitely better 2 have them blacked out rather than bright blue. Unfortunately for certain media outlets, you will never be able 2 'Michael Jackson' me. That means 2 make it seem like everything I do is so weird or out of place... they always try 2 make it seem like everything is about my ego! That joke is getting old. At a certain point you have 2 respect that I'm one of the last artist that still cares about the fans having the best time of there lives! Thanks 2 Bossip and Perez for taking it easy on me on the EW spaz... I did go in a little 2 much on that one. I'm sure there are some cool people who work over there and had nothing 2 do with that review. With all that said.... "I'm still the greatest!!!" lol!! Oh and I was in the studio with T.I. last night.... so get ready!!!
thank god, maybe people will put this shit on their cell phones instead of rank ass carter. TOTALLY A SUMMER HIT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! and yep, that's not t-pain ya'll :)

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie take three of their four children, Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3, for a stroll on a very rocky beach near Bono’s home in the South of France on Sunday.
Accompanying the Jolie-Pitts on the beach was David Howell Evans, aka The Edge, who is the guitarist, keyboardist, and main backing vocalist for the Irish rock band U2.
Brad helped Angie sit down for a rest by rocks with Zahara while Brad and The Edge took the rest of the kids to play by the water’s edge.
Earlier in the day, the Jolie-Pitts were seen enjoying breakfast on the terrace of their villa. Brad took off his shirt to work on his tan! Ohlala!
Angie was seen carrying daughter Shiloh, who turns 2 later this month. The couple’s fifth (and maybe sixth) child is due this summer.

ABC enjoyed across-the-board ratings gains Sunday night with its dramas climbing slightly from their post-strike return malaise.

Surrounded by pink and blue balloons and with big sister Britney Spears by her side, teen mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears celebrated her baby shower in Kentwood, La, on Saturday. The 17-year-old is expecting a girl sometime this summer.
Friends and family gathered at mom, Lynn's, home known as "Serenity," where Britney and her father, Jamie, are staying. E! News has learned that mom and dad did all the cooking for the alcohol-free affair, which included fried chicken and chili.
Security was tight at Serenity, with police setting up a roadblock and checking IDs. By noon, only about 50 cars were allowed to enter, mostly filled with college-aged men and women. There was no sign of Jamie Lynn's baby daddy/fiancé, Casey Aldridge.
An outdoor patio was setup for guests, although a swarm of helicopters from the paparazzi kept most of the partygoers indoors. Music could be heard until past 8 p.m. that evening.
The trip marks Brit-Brit's first back to her hometown in more than one year. She's expected back in Los Angeles by Tuesday for another custody hearing with ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
The foursome took a helicopter ride to visit a large property in an undisclosed location.
Brad and Angie’s fifth child is due this summer.

Raven-Symoné is widely known as a good girl—the girl who grew up next door, gained fame on The Cosby Show and who’s grown up to be a television, movie, and recording star with a carefully crafted and well-maintained wholesome image. This week her self-titled album hit the shelves. As with her previous discs, the 22 year-old wants to unequivocally honor her past commitment to nice-girl fare. "I am not going to sing about sex, drugs, and violence. That’s just not who I am," she recently told Jet in a cover story.
Raven-Symoné’s album comes at a time when the music industry continues to face a grueling ride. Record sales fell 9.5 percent in 2007, according to Nielsen SoundScan, amid a climate where listeners continue to download singles and where CD sales continue to face competition from DVDs, games, and an onslaught of entertainment choices from social networking sites to YouTube.

In this week's "Don't believe everything you read" file: Daisy Lowe has denied claims that she is dating Mark Ronson.
In an interview with The Independent this weekend for her participation in the upcoming documentary on BBC2 Class of 2008, the daughter of Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and fashion designer Pearl Lowe dismissed stories being reported in various British tabloids that she is romantically involved with the Grammy Award-winning producer of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen - and is in fact still with her on-off boyfriend Will Cameron, the lead singer of The Blondelles.
The article notes: "Her relationship with Cameron, incidentally, is very much on right now – despite recent tabloid stories suggesting Mark Ronson is more than just the good friend she claims."

Speaking in this month’s Uncut magazine, Richards said that ‘Changes’, which appears on Bowie’s fourth album ‘Hunky Dory’, was the only song by the artist that he could “remember”.
"It's all pose. It's all fucking posing. It's nothing to do with music. He knows it too,” Richards said.
“I can't think of anything else he's done that would make my hair stand up."

The highly anticipated High School Musical 3 movie began shooting on Saturday in Salt Lake City, and E! News got the scoop:
Ashley Tisdale was escorted around the set by a police officer who never left her side, except when cameras were rolling. E!’s set spy said she looked really sad. She never cracked a smile and did not socialize with anyone, except Vanessa Hudgens, who wasn’t working but showed up late in the afternoon to hang out.
It’s worth noting that Tisdale, who plays the spoiled Sharpay, was done up in a pink cowgirl costume, which might make anyone a bit glum.
Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Ryne Sanborn and Chris Warren were also on hand, shooting classroom scenes. Though all the actors had their own well-guarded trailers, the guys tended to hang out on set and chat with extras and crew.
Olesya Rulin wore sunglasses indoors all day. The extras got a kick out of that Hollywood-esque move.
Director Kenny Ortega personally directed the extras and was "extremely gracious to all of us," said our set source. "He was carrying around Ashley's dog all day. He was holding it as if it lived in his arms."
Wait a minute—he had her dog? Maybe that’s why she was so glum.

Meet Charlotte Filbert, a 27-year-old artist who is having an affair with Robin Williams. According to The National Enquirer, they named Charlotte Filbert as the woman Williams has been having an affair with. The two were introduced by Tommy Hilfiger’s 23-year-old daughter Ally just six months ago.
Although Marsha Garces Williams, Robin's wife of 19 years, filed for divorce on March 21, the Enquirer claims they have been living separate lives for over a year.
Filbert refused to deny she is dating Williams when asked by the tabloid. "I can’t comment on any of this stuff," said Filbert.
The relationship is long distance as Williams lives in San Francisco, while Filbert lives in Connecticut.

Amy Winehouse has has abandoned her Jewish roots to embrace Catholicism as a show of unity towards her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The troubled singer, 24, has started wearing rosary beads and has turned to the Roman Catholic faith in a show of solidarity with Blake — who’s locked up in London’s Pentonville prison accused of assault and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
It was recently revealed that Blake, 25, has a daily meeting with the prison chaplain as he awaits trial.
A source said: “She was given the rosary beads by a friend and wears them in devotion to Blake.
“Despite rumors, she is not with anyone else.”
POLICE are to quiz Sir Bob Geldof’s daughter Peaches after she was filmed buying DRUGS from Amy Winehouse’s alleged dealer.

As the secret video camera whirrs, she hands a drugs pusher up to £190 and says: “I’m going to need Valium tomorrow after this.”
It is the moment the 19-year-old celeb is seen for the first time chillingly plunging headlong into the dark world that engulfed her mother.
Peaches is to be QUIZZED by POLICE this week over the shock scenes.

ABC has gone and canceled one of TV's most consistently heartwarming hours, Men in Trees.
The sad, depressing news was just confirmed to me by series creator Jenny Bicks, who says she was informed of the network's decision late last week. "I am really proud of the work we did on MIT," she tells me. "A huge thank you to our supportive fans."

As soul-crushing as this is, I managed to find a silver lining in all this:
Bicks and her team prepared for Trees' possible demise by shooting
The question remains - how long will Anne Heche and her on-set lover last now? And what was the end result of that nasty custody battle that was all over the tabloids a while back?
OK, maybe this week won't be completely doom-and-gloomy after all.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the enchanting Brea Grant — who made quite the impression as Landry's short-lived rebound girl on Friday Night Lights — is joining the cast of Heroes next season as The Speedster.
As you'll recall, last month I reported that Heroes was casting the role of Joy, who's "quick on her feet — and adept at getting herself into and out of trouble."

HEARTBROKEN CHERYL COLE stood by love rat husband ASHLEY on the opening night of GIRLS ALOUD’s UK tour.
She dedicated a cover of the PRETENDERS’ hit I’ll Stand By You to “anyone who is going through a hard time at the moment”.
Cheryl, still not wearing her wedding ring, clearly had the support of the four other girls at the explosive start to their 24-show Tangled Up tour, in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday – a gig that cost £3million to stage.
In front of 14,000 screaming fans and a blaze of pyrotechnics, the girls put on their raunchiest show to date, featuring flash fireworks, X-rated dance routines and costumes and knee-high boots.
Performances of tracks including Love Machine and Biology and a riotous finale of Something Kinda Oooh left no one in doubt the quintet are the premiere pop act in action today.
In a show of solidarity NADINE, KIMBERLEY, SARAH and NICOLA stood by a gaunt Cheryl, constantly holding her hand and patting her on the back.
It was an emotional homecoming for leggy local Nadine, who now lives in LA with her family.
She flew her folks in to be with her on the second and third nights of the tour, also in Belfast.
She also wished her mum a happy birthday for Thursday, when she turns 50, and is arranging a surprise party.
CHERYL last night told of her agony over her hubby Ashley’s cheating.
The Girls Aloud singer admitted: “I felt like cracking up at times.
“But it’s made me realise there are people a million times worse off than me.”
The Sun revealed in January how Chelsea ace Ashley romped with blonde Aimee Walton, 22.

Biggest mistake women make when shopping: It's really an issue of size, one of cut. Some women wear clothes that are simply too big for them and other women wear clothes that are just too small. They're not being realistic about their body size or shape. There's a misjudgment going on about what's going to be flattering. When women wear clothes that are too small, they're often shopping in the juniors department. The necessity to shop in the juniors department is sometimes because of finance, but also due to this desire to be trendy. But being trendy by shopping in the juniors department just makes you look like you're chasing your youth. There's no price point when it comes to style, but I don't feel like you need to shop younger to look great. It never makes you look as trendy as you think it will.
Worst fad she ever wore: In seventh grade, I was really into wearing a sweater dress, legwarmers, jazz shoes and a Flock of Seagulls hairdo. I really did have an awkward phase of about age nine to 30.
Favorite thing about giving women makeovers: It has nothing to do with the way they look, but everything about the way they feel. I feel very strongly about this modern-day crisis of self esteem. There's a real epidemic going on, and if in some small way I can help a woman feel better about herself, there's nothing better. When women can see what they can change about their lives, I think they realize, "Wow, this isn't as difficult as I thought it would be."
The minute you show them there is a better way to dress, and that it's not so hard, it actually makes you realize some of the other things you've been avoiding in life aren't so hard. If you realize makeovers and style aren't outside your grasp, then maybe you realize getting a better job isn't out of the question, or maybe a better relationship with your boyfriend is possible.
Favorite things in her closet: A silk charmeuse, leopard-print, V-neck, empire-waist, A-line mini dress - all the things I tell women to to look for. I practice what I preach. It was outrageously expensive. And an orange mandarin silk dupioni dress that I just bought in the Bahamas from Calypso.

Okay, I don't know if I'm the only one here, but I LOVE this hag. And Clinton. I'm sad that silly Fashionably Late was canceled. I dream of that shoe wall. Maybe they should give Clinton a show? OMG YES.
Though it’s still no further along than it was when it was first rumoured, Variety confirmed today that “Family Guy” creator Seth MccFarlane is indeed working on a feature-film version of the popular FOX toon.
Buried in a story about McFarlane's new financially-pleasing deal with the network is the following:
“Beyond that, MacFarlane said he'd like to continue expanding his Fuzzy Door shingle to include multiple skeins and feature projects. And that includes a long-rumored "Family Guy" movie, which MacFarlane would like to produce in the next few years. There's no firm plan yet, although any feature will likely center on homicidal toddler Stewie, he said.”
I'm guessing the success of "The Simpson's Movie" has also had something to do with this...
The tension between Lynette and stepdaughter Kayla Scavo heats up in the last three episodes of the fourth season of Desperate Housewives as the scheming problem child cranks up the deviousness to make more trouble for her stepmother. But what happens after the two-hour season finale on May 18? Kayla's portrayer, Rachel Fox, knows, but she's not telling.
"I'm good at keeping a secret," Fox said. "Besides, the fun is for the audience to guess and wonder and try to figure out what's going to happen. And with a show like Desperate Housewives, well, you never know."
That bitch is crazy!!!!!!
