Not sure if this was common knowledge to everyone or if it was already posted.

Tina Fey just said she was not returning to Saturday Night Live next season on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She is leaving because she is writing and starring in a new show called 30 Rock. It's a show about a late night comedy show.

..kinda sad about this, i really liked her

Paris Pencils Debut Album In For August

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
With her single "Stars Are Blind" unexpectedly making an impact on the Billboard charts, Paris Hilton will on Aug. 22 release her self-titled album via Warner Bros. "Stars Are Blind" is No. 16 this week on the Billboard Pop 100; its accompanying video is in rotation on MTV and VH1.

The album finds Hilton collaborating with such producers as Scott Storch, Dr. Luke and Jonathan "J.R." Rotem, while rappers Jadakiss and Fat Joe make a guest appearance on "Fightin' Over Me." Among the other tracks is Hilton's cover of Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy."

"She has a certain tone that's reminiscent of Cyndi Lauper and Blondie," Storch told Billboard in April of Hilton's sound. "The album doesn't have one particular sound. It's just good music; a combination of R&B, hip-hop and pop. It will surprise a lot of people because there's real artistry coming from Paris."

A behind-the-scenes special on the creation of "Paris Hilton" will premiere Aug. 8 on MTV.

LOL Blondie and Cyndi Lauper. They friggin' wish. That behind the scenes thing should be... interesting.

You never go ass to mouth, even in the heat of the moment!

Joel Siegel, the ABC critic who famously walked out of a screening of Kevin Smith's Clerks II, announcing aloud that it was the first time he had done so in 30 years of reviewing, will find little support from his colleagues.

The film doesn't receive any really devastating reviews and it does receive quite a few positive ones. Most are somewhere in the middle. Siegel reportedly left the theater following a scene involving sex with a donkey. Kyle Smith in the New York Post even refers to the departure in his review: "You have to work hard (or be as old as Siegel) to take offense at Smith," he comments. Here's Ann Hornaday's take on the scene in the Washington Post: "Smith may be the one filmmaker working today who can so easily convey a sense of profound spiritual faith while shamelessly grubbing for laughs with an on-screen donkey act."

And here's A.O. Scott's in the New York Times: "Mr. Smith's fondness for jokes about excrement, bestiality and related topics is so evidently childish that it is hard to be offended, or even especially provoked, when he tries to test the limits of taste."

Likewise Chris Kaltenbach writes in the Baltimore Sun: "While the film sometimes stoops to lows the term sophomoric barely describes, it also possesses a sly wisdom and compassion that's easy to admire."

Carrie Rickey writes in the Philadelphia Inquirer: "As though testing an enormous quantity of spaghetti for doneness, Smith throws a vatload of obscenely funny gags at the wall, and many of them stick. If you don't laugh out loud at the bit about Star Wars versus Lord of the Rings, you don't have a pulse."

My boyfriend actually went to the bathroom during this scene, but he didn't leave. He found it too much about the beastiality, I thought it was freakin hilarious! It's a definite must-see. Don't let one old stick in the mud drive you away!

JC Chasez and Timberlake are Back 'NSync

Posted Jul 21st 2006 4:32PM by Jolie Lash
Filed under: Pop

J.C. Chasez has enlisted the help of former 'NSync bandmate Justin Timberlake for two tracks on the follow-up to his 2004 album 'Schizophrenic.'

The boys reunited to co-write and produce 'God Bless America' and 'Until Yesterday,' the first single from Chasez's upcoming effort. "We had a lot of fun," Chasez tells AOL Music. "'Until Yesterday' is a lot of Beatles-meet-Freddy Mercury. That guy was so operatic and entertaining, and the song is a soap opera."

Though the former boy-banders both release their new records later this year, Chasez says it didn't put them off collaborating. "The records are two different worlds. They really are," he says. "We're not competing in any way, shape or form.

"It's hard for people to imagine. But we have two very different stories to tell, and we had a lot going on in our lives the last four or five years that we've been apart. You really can't play one record on my album that sounds like any one of his records."

Other producers on the record include Dallas Austin and Nelly Furtado's recent duet partner Timbaland. Chasez says listeners will be surprised at his new direction.

"Everything I've been working on is mainly guitar-based," he says.

Finally Beverly Hills, 90210 DVD news!

For a year-and-a-half, we've known it was coming. When Paramount teased us earlier this year with indications that it was coming, TVShowsOnDVD began asking them on a pretty-much weekly basis what the street date was. We last asked the studio about this last Monday (the 17th), and were told that there still wasn't a US date for the show. But now, Paramount Home Entertainment has revealed:

Beverly Hills, 90210 - The Complete 1st Season - NOVEMBER 7th

Although the pilot episodes came to DVD two years ago, fans have been clamoring for season sets of this landmark primetime soap opera! Shannen Doherty (Charmed), Jason Priestley (Tru Calling), Luke Perry (Windfall), Gabrielle Carteris (Palmetto Pointe), Tori Spelling (So NoTORIous), Ian Ziering (upcoming Biker Mice From Mars), Brian Austin Green (Freddie), Jennie Garth (What I Like About You), James Eckhouse (upcoming 2006 film Half-Life), Carol Potter, Douglas Emerson and Joe E. Tata star in the initial season of the series, where the action mainly takes place at West Beverly Hills High School with new kids Brandon and Brenda Walsh moving into the upscale neighborhood, and making lots of new friends.

You would think with that zip code, there would be a ton of guest stars in the first season of this show. But really there weren't. But you will be able to spot upcoming Friends star Matthew Perry, singer Debbie Gibson, and even '80s Playboy playmate Julie McCullough among these 22 episodes.

Beverly Hills, 90210 - The Complete 1st Season will be a 6-DVD set that runs 17 hours and 48 minutes. Please stand by for extras (if any) and box art! Melrose Place - The Complete 1st Season has been announced for the same release date of November 7th, and we've heard that the long-awaited Twin Peaks - Season 2 will hit US shores a couple of weeks after that. Stay tuned!

Locks of Love is a Scam

When I first read about Diane Lane chopping off 8 inches of hair to donate to Locks of Love - I begrudingly had to admit that this actress donated her boring hair to a great cause.

However, when I looked into Locks of Love I discovered some disturbing facts:

* Locks of Love receives more hair that they actually use to make wigs for cancer patients.
* Locks of Love SELLS the suplus hair for CASH! How much are they selling the hair for? In 2005, they sold $352,401 of hair!
* Most of the hair donated does not end up on a child's head. It ends up being sold to commercial wigmakers.

Add on the fact, that women who spend years growing out gorgeous, beautiful hair get nagged by rude idiots to cut it off and donate to this scam charity. Do people with nice shoes get hounded to donate them to shoeless orphans? Yet for some reason, so many people get duped into donating their hair to this organization. With all the publicity surrounding the people who donate hair, why do we never see the cancer-stricken children who receive the hair?

If you really want to help people with cancer, donate to the American Cancer Society.

Edit: It has been brought to my attention that Diane Lane did not donate to Locks of Love. Some of the articles I read did mention them though, I could see how that could be confusing.

Jackass crew recreates River Phoenix's death as a prank

They usually get laughs for stapling themselves, snorting wasabi and generally suffering pain for fun but a Jackass prank in Darlinghurst this week turned very unfunny when ambulance crews were called to their hoax emergency.

Two crews were rushed to Oxford Street club, Ruby Rabit, in the early hours of yesterday morning after being alerted to a man lying on the pavement receiving CPR from a woman.
They arrived to find it was Jackass prankster BAM MARGERA pretending to have collapsed and having attracted two female fans to give him mouth-to-mouth, all of it being caught on film.

It's understood a passer-by dialled triple-O after seing the 'emergency'. An ambulance service spokeswoman said such hoaxes were not a laughing matter.

"Hoax and nuisance calls represent a severe drain on our resources and cost the community many hundreds of thousands of dollars each year". She said.

After rushing to an 'unknown situation', the ambos realised the prank soon after arriving, with Margera then quickly whisked back to his hotel by management.

Margera's Jackass budies PRESTON LACY and STEVE-O had carried him out of theclub and left him on the pavement apparantly needing medical attention in what was understood to be a "River Phoenix viper room stunt".

The Jackass crew -- minus JOHNNY KNOXVILLE who had retired to his hotel room -- were celebrating WOLFMOTHER frontman Andrew Stockale's 30th birthday at the club after the band's Horden Pavillion gig.

They are filming footage as they follow Wolfmother on their Aussie tour and hed to the Splendour In The Grass festival at Byrn Bay with them this weekend."

Tell us about your new CD. Why did you call it In My Mind?
I felt I could make a hip-hop record and an R&B record on the same album. And nobody can tell me I can’t — because it’s in my mind.
Was it fun to make your first solo record?
It was a nightmare. There were too many cooks in the kitchen.

Christie Brinkley scandal: book, film offers for the 19-year-old tramps story

Free Image Hosting - www.supload.com Free Image Hosting - www.supload.com

Casting has already begun for the film version of the latest Christie Brinkley divorce saga — at least in the minds of some Hollywood producers.

Hamptons insiders say the family of 19-year-old "other woman" Diana Bianchi is already being targeted by "book, TV and movie offers."

Bianchi attorney Joseph Tacopina was not available for comment yesterday, although the snitch observes, "It's usually cheaper to go through the family.

"And this is before the civil suit is even filed," adds the source.

Meanwhile, The National Enquirer has dug up a cocaine bust deep in the past of Brinkley's straying hubby, Peter Cook.

"Cook was 23 at the time of his arrest on Nov. 10, 1982," reports the tab. "He was busted for attempting to sell cocaine to an undercover cop … at a Long Island highway rest stop."

Cook copped only probation after a guilty plea.

Are we on the Verge of Another White Boy Invasion?
Posted: Tuesday, July 18, 2006 02:14am EDT

Solo artists J.C. Chasez, Justin Timberlake, and Robin Thicke are all releasing sophomore albums before the end of this year.

Of the three artists, the most familiar is Justin Timberlake, who's second effort, SexyBack, is shaping up to be a strong follow-up to his 2002 debut, Justified.

Chasez and Thicke haven't experienced as much commercial success as Timberlake, but all that may change with Thicke's, The Evolution of Robin Thicke, and Chasez's new (untitled) release. Chasez's first album, Schizophrenic, was just that -- Schizophrenia in both style and flavor. Schizophrenic incorporated so many different musical styles and genres that it was more than just a R&B/Pop album, it had a little something for everyone.

And while on the subject of 'something for everyone,' Robin Thicke's first album did an excellent job of showcasing his combination of falsetto voice and writing ability. Thicke recently teamed up with super star producer Pharell Williams and Star Trax for, The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which judging by the album's first two singles, "Wanna Love U Girl" and "Lost Without You," is shaping up to be something special.

To fully appreciate artists like Thicke, Chasez, or Timberlake you have to experience them as they grow rather than waiting on the sidelines to become a Bandwagoneer.

Case in Point:

Beyonce's first solo effort shows her growth from one-third of Destiny's Child; Mariah Carey's Emancipation of Mimi is a totally different sound from what she was doing on Emotions; Justin Timberlake's first album is a complete 180 from what he did with NSync. So as we approach this next surge of quality music, let's take the time to discover and celebrate artists who make good music regardless of color.

Church ban for Church

A CATHOLIC publishing giant is refusing to sell Charlotte Church’s music after she called the Pope a NAZI.

The Welsh beauty made the slur about German-born Pope Benedict XVI in a jape for her new TV show.

She also dressed as a nun and smashed a Virgin Mary statue in a pilot episode of Channel 4’s All New Charlotte Church Show.

Now incensed directors of US-based Ignatius Press have pulled her CDs and DVDs from its catalogue and website.

The firm said: “We can’t stand by a woman who uses her stature in the media to mock the Eucharist, slander the Holy Father and denigrate the vows of religious women. Please join us in praying for this troubled young woman.”

Catholic-raised Charlotte, 20, sang for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican at the age of 12.

But she expressed her dislike for Pope Benedict, 79, after it was reported he considered the Harry Potter books ‘subtle seductions’ capable of corrupting young Christians.

Pope Benedict was forced into the Hitler Youth as a child.

Alicia's willing to take it all off & Liz Hurley's getting hitched

Alicia Silverstone: 'I would Strip For PETA'

Hollywood stunner Alicia Silverstone is becoming as well known for animal cruelty campaigning as she is for acting.

The beauty who found fame as bratty Cher in Clueless, recently won the title of the world’s sexiest vegetarian in a recent poll.

But the star is now looking to break out of her prim and proper appearence recently telling the sun newspaper she wouldn’t rule out joining Pamela Anderson in baring all for anti-fur charity PETA.

Stunning Alicia, 29, was quoted as saying "I really respect the people who do it, I think it’s wonderful.

"I’d maybe do it, I wouldn’t rule it out but I think so many people are doing it the message is getting across anyway which is fantastic."

The star animal rights supporter has also gone on record blasting fur-wearing celebrities like Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez.

I don't want to see this, but then again, I'm not her target audience (*ish gay*).

Liz Hurley to marry in September

Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar are planning to tie the knot in September.

The pair are reportedly considering rural retreat Barnsley House in Gloucestershire for the ceremony, which is expected to be attended by celebrity guests including Elton John and Hurley's ex Hugh Grant.

A source told The Mirror, "Liz and Arun love Barnsley House as they have stayed there before and they regularly eat in its restaurant. They have been in several times recently and it's high on their list of possible venues. It's a wonderful, discreet hotel that is well-used to celebrity clientele and perfect for intimate weddings."

Hurley and Nayar have been together for three and a half years.

Pee Wee Herman

Jack White's new band courts Paul Reubens for second video for "Steady As She Goes," the first single off the band's debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers.

Not content having one video for their first single, the Raconteurs have filmed a second, and this one features none other than Paul Reubens of Pee Wee Herman fame.

The side project of White Stripes guitarist Jack White, set to hit the road next month for a US tour, teamed up with Reubens for the second video for "Steady As She Goes," the first single off the band's debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers.

The second video offers a stark contrast to the first, a home video-style art clip directed by acclaimed director Jim Jarmusch. The new video features White and bandmates Brendan Benson and Patrick Keeler competing in an old-fashioned soapbox car race, with Reubens as a devious pit boss stooping to low levels to ensure a win for his racer, played by Raconteurs bassist Jack Lawrence. The new video will premiere on Yahoo! Music Monday.

Reubens is best known as the creator and host of Pee Wee's Playhouse, which aired Saturday mornings on CBS from 1986 to 1991. Soon after the show was canceled, Reubens was arrested for allegedly masturbating in an adult movie theater. He was later arrested on child pornography charges, but those charges were dropped after he pleaded guilty to a separate "misdemeanor obscenity" charge.

Reubens has appeared in numerous films and TV shows since then, including Batman Returns and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Reruns of Pee Wee's Playhouse are set to return to TV on the Cartoon Network in July.

American radio hangs up on Madonna

Madonna is in the midst of a sold-out North American trek that may end up being the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist. But this on-the-road success is not carrying over to American radio, which largely snubbed the first three singles from her latest album.

"Hung Up" got middling airplay on mainstream top 40 outlets, "Sorry" was barely played, and "Get Together" has been all but ignored by pop stations. (Her album, "Confessions on a Dance Floor," has sold a healthy 1.5 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.)

Naturally, the disconnect has left executives at her Warner Bros. label -- and more than a few fans -- wondering, what gives?

More than 3,300 fans have signed an appeal at http://www.petitiononline.com. The "End the Madonna on U.S. Radio Boycott" petition is addressed to Clear Channel Communications CEO Mark P. Mays.

Message boards at Entertainment Weekly and VH1, among others, are rife with everything from support for Madonna to conspiracy theories about why she can't crack the radio dial.

Warner Bros. was aware that the songs on "Confessions" could present challenges at mainstream top 40 radio, acknowledges Tom Biery, the label's senior VP of promotions. "Top 40 radio is so hip-hop-driven," he says. "We were coming in with a global pop star who made a dance record."

Guy Zapoleon, president of radio consulting firm Zapoleon Media Strategies, calls it an "interesting dilemma for the woman who certainly held the 'Queen of Pop' title for almost 15 years." Madonna's ability to redefine herself is well-documented, and Zapoleon says that this has helped her keep a "leading edge" to the new group of pop music fans that comes along every three to five years.

But this time, Madonna may have turned left while the pop climate was turning right. Other pop chameleons such as Nelly Furtado and Mariah Carey reinvented themselves with recent rhythmic/hip-hop-leaning singles. Madonna opted instead to return to her dance-pop roots.

According to Dom Theodore, regional VP of programming for Clear Channel and program director of top 40 WKQI Detroit, today's programmers consider each Madonna song on a case-by-case basis to determine if it fits mainstream top 40, adult top 40 or both. Or neither.

For Theodore, the sound of "Confessions on a Dance Floor" skews more retro-adult top 40 than mainstream top 40, while recent club tracks like Rihanna's "SOS" have "more hip-hop credibility." The Rihanna jam may reference an early-'80s dance hit (Soft Cell's "Tainted Love") but Theodore believes it does not have the same "retro '70s feel" as the Madonna tracks.

Madonna has had no such problems internationally. Since its release last November, "Confessions on a Dance Floor" has topped the charts in 29 countries and sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, according to Warner Bros.

George Ergatoudis, head of music at BBC Radio 1 in the United Kingdom, says that while U.S. mainstream top 40 radio may be driven by urban, rock and straight-ahead pop, dance records -- house music, in particular -- are very much part of the top 40 radio culture in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Except for dance radio outlets like KNGY San Francisco, KNRJ Phoenix and KNHC Seattle, Madonna is missing from the terrestrial radio landscape in the United States.

As Warner Bros. gears up for the release of the album's fourth single, "Jump," Biery remains optimistic, especially since the song was heard in TV and radio spots for the hit film "The Devil Wears Prada."

Lohan/Hilton Feud Hits Pet Store!

Paris Hilton Still Getting Mileage Out Of The Word 'Firecrotch'

Carefully worded publicist protestations to the contrary notwithstanding, it would appear that Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are one "accidentally" spilled poolside vodkatini from scooping out each other's eyes with expensively manicured nails and some choice weave-yanking, cankle-biting savagery. A Defamer operative had a chance encounter with The Character That Paris Hilton Plays in Malibu this weekend that suggests that the Firecrotch Feud is still very much in play

6 p.m., Saturday, July 15: I'm in the pet store in the Malibu Country Mart, shopping for dog toys, when a large group of people enters and heads over to look at the $2,000 puppies. They're making so much noise, and they sound so self-entitled, that they can only be the posse of a famous person. Not wanting to out myself as Someone Who's Actually Excited to See a Famous Person, I don't look that closely, so I'm not immediately sure who it is. Then a cell phone rings from the territory they've occupied, and it's turned up so loud that it has to belong to the Famous Person and not a mere member of the entourage. I turn and look, and six feet away is Paris Hilton, in a white dress, white shoes and white-frame bug-eye shades, looking at the Caller ID on her cell.

She looks annoyed at her phone. "It's Firecrotch," she says, and pushes the button to send the call to voicemail.
