Sean Gehon, The First Runner Up in MuchMusic's "VJ Search: The Series", Joins Star! As Entertainment Reporter
TORONTO, April 12 /CNW/ - Canada's First and Only Entertainment Station,
Star!, is pleased to announce Sean Gehon, the first runner up in MuchMusic's
"VJ Search: The Series", has joined the network as Entertainment Reporter for
both Star! The Channel and "Star! Daily".
Sean has gone from a video store employee to one of the most popular
faces on Canadian television in a matter of weeks. A native of Regina,
Saskatchewan, Sean recently became a fan favourite on MuchMusic's "VJ Search:
The Series", beating out thousands of young VJ Hopefuls, to become one of the
10 finalists on Canada's original reality TV franchise. Sean's sense of fun
translates on screen through his quick wit and sassy attitude, which
demonstrates his ability to get the most out of his interview, whether it be
music veteran Christopher Ward or Supermodel Molly Sims. With a true love of
all pop culture, a funky sense of style and a unique knack for informing his
audience while still entertaining, Sean is an ideal addition to the strong
Star! team. Leaving a lasting impression wherever he goes, one thing's for
sure, with Sean you'll never get the same thing twice!
"This is insane! I'm a pop-culture addict and within an hour of the VJ
finale I had this amazing opportunity with Star! And Dina ....I love her! And
now I get to work with her every day ... it's like a dream come true," said
Sean Gehon.
"It was clear from his VJ search success that Sean connected with our
audience. The viewers are still asking for him...and with this kind of
popularity he's ready to move into an on camera role for Star! We want to
continue to grow his strengths on-air and behind the scenes as an
entertainment reporter and segment producer. We are excited to add his unique
talents to the CHUM Entertainment Unit," said Marcia Martin, Vice-President,
Production, CHUM Television.
Sean joins Star!'s Husein Madhavji, Dina Pugliese, Larysa Harapyn and
Danielle McGimsie. Watch for Sean's first appearance on Star! on May 1, 2006.
