Prince Sued For Redecorating Rented Home

MARCH 20--Claiming that his $70,000-a-month tenant Prince undertook an extremely tacky makeover of his Los Angeles mansion, an NBA star recently sued the mercurial singer over the purple-hued alterations. In a January complaint, Carlos Boozer, a forward with the Utah Jazz, sued Prince/MPG Music over unauthorized work done on the 10-bedroom, 11-bath West Hollywood property, which is owned by the C Booz Multifamily I LLC. According to the lawsuit, Prince/MPG Music violated its eight-month lease by "painting the exterior of the [house] with purple striping, 'prince' symbol, and numbers 3121." Prince's new album, "3121," is scheduled for release tomorrow.

The SeX-Files? Yeah, I went there. Sorry.

Sci-fi nerds will be able to release a fangasm later this year when Straightheads comes out at the end of the year, as it features Gillian Anderson nude. A source says "Gillian does get naked in a couple parts of the film, there are two sex scenes between her and Danny [Dyer] . . . the first sex scene I dont think you see anything of either of them (this is the now almost famous up against a tree scene. But near the beginning theres a shower scene, top half on show, and in the next sex scene you see her top half and everywhere else except for her 'modesty'!!"

I'm guessing her 'modesty' means no groin shot. Oh well, at least the tush is out there! I suck.

EDIT: she has kinda been nude before, in a movie called The Turning. See that here (NSFW).

Toe to toe over Gina's $650 shoes

Photo from Getty Images

Actress Gina Gershon put her foot down yesterday, halting production of the pilot for the ABC fall prime-time soap "Ugly Betty," and demanded that she be allowed to keep a $650 pair of shoes when the producers tried to get her to sign her contract without the benefit of a lawyer.

The 43-year-old actress has a small guest-starring role as a Donatella Versace-like fashion diva in the Salma Hayek-produced series. Gershon kept everybody waiting for more than an hour on location at the Woolworth Building while she consulted with her L.A. attorney and fussed with the producers, all the while donning her character's heavy Italian accent.

"It's a classic case of an actress letting her part go to her head," reports a Lowdown spy on the set. "The funny part is that they hired a dialect coach to make her sound Italian, and she was talking to the producers in the accent, saying that she couldn't sign the contract until her lawyer read the contract. Then she says she will not sign unless the contract is changed to let her keep her wardrobe, and Disney [ABC's parent company] has a strict policy saying actors don't get to keep their wardrobes."

Hayek was in L.A. yesterday and apparently unaware of the shoe business. Her co-executive producer, Silvio Horta, told Lowdown: "It was just a minor, minor delay. ... There's a pair of shoes that are pretty fabulous, and I'd want to keep them as well."

Horta added that Gershon is "incredibly talented and wonderful to work with."

Gershon's manager, Jason Weinberg, said: "Once she was connected with her rep, everything was cleared up in three minutes. There was no diva behavior, and they had a great day of shooting, and she loved playing the character. It sounds like someone is turning a comedic moment into drama."

Why would you want to keep your wardrobe? Sure they may be nice clothes, but would you want to wear things you've been seen wearing on TV? I think it's petty.

Jonathan Antin's Blow Out with Ex-Girlfriend

Jonathan Antin, star of the hit Bravo show 'Blow Out', is the lastest celeb who has been exposed as a raging wife beater.

What started off as a little girlfight turned into a whole lot of pushing and shoving and he soon found his pansy ass in jail for domestic violence.

Morrissey Apologises To Arctic Monkeys

Morrissey has apologised to the Arctic Monkeys if his recent comments about them caused offence.

The singer was quoted criticising the band's rapid success while at the South By South West festival last week (March 15), suggesting it was too soon and "a bit unnatural".

However Morrissey has issued a further statement to NME.COM, explaining he was not criticising the Sheffield newcomers.

"I'm sorry that the comments I made at SouthBySouthWest about the Arctic Monkeys were printed so harshly in The Times and the NME," states Morrissey.

"I actually quite like the Arctic Monkeys and whatever I said was said with tender, avuncular concern. I hope to God I didn't upset their grannies," he added.

"In any case, I was wrong about their success being too sudden and without any dues paid, because that's exactly how it happened for The Smiths. So, I really should shut it."

"In New York or Los Angeles, it can be a bit overwhelming," says Kim, who plays Korean castaway Jin-Soo Kwon in the hit ABC series "Lost."

"They're appreciative of what I do on the show, and one person may ask for an autograph, then others. I'll hear shrieks on the street, which can be unsettling. It's a bit more low-key in Hawai'i, since we film there."

Us Exclusive: Nick’s Revenge Video

Nick Lachey is taking career cues from Justin Timberlake. The fellow ex boy-bander responded to his breakup with Britney Spears in his video for the song “Cry Me a River.” Now, sources say, Lachey, 32, is dramatizing the dissolution of his marriage to Jessica Simpson in the video for his new single, “What’s Left of Me.”

This current issue of Us Weekly reports:

“The video is obviously about him and Jessica,” a close source tells Us. In the video, with MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo standing in for Simpson, Lachey sings in a house quite similar to the Calabasas, California, home they shared during the three seasons of Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica. Lachey watches as the objects of their life together gradually disappear around him. In the end, even Minnillo has vanished into the shadows. “The song is all about changes,” Minnillo, 25, host of Total Request Live, tells Us. “Nick is so strong. He’s really putting himself out there as a musician.”

The video, which began shooting yesterday, is expect to start airing in late April.

Joan Rivers is looking for love in cyberspace. So far, no luck. The 72-year-old red-carpet critic and comedian said she and assistant Matt Stewart created a profile for her on

"We were hoping to meet Mr. Right," Rivers told The Associated Press in a recent interview. "We didn't even get a wink."

"Maybe there is somebody sitting out there in the east side of New York," she said.

The profile lists Rivers as looking for a man between the ages of 65 and 75.

Rivers doesn't want to get married again, though. The former talk show host was married to British producer Edgar Rosenberg, who committed suicide in 1987.

As far as children go, Rivers already has one, daughter Melissa, as well as a 5-year-old grandson, Edgar. Her profile answer under the children section says "probably not."

"Not right now, but I got two eggs in the refrigerator," she quipped. "I should have written, 'not right now unless it is very, very important to you'."

Of course any man in Rivers' life would have to work around her busy schedule. Rivers will be performing her standup act in Tunica, Miss., on Saturday and will be touring Australia in April.

Jessica Alba Advice

"They want you to take off your clothes all the time (for roles) when you're younger," actress Jessica Alba told women trying to break into film and television on Tuesday. "I won't do that."

Alba ("Into the Blue") was the lone actress on a panel of women from various sectors of the entertainment business who took part in an informal question-and-answer session about the industry at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The seven panelists discussed topics ranging from the advantages of film school, to balancing filmmaking and single motherhood, to their own early role models.

Alba said her immediate goals involved segueing into producing and headlining a film without a male co-star.

Stone: I Have No Problem Doing Nude Scene

Sharon Stone, who returns as the seductive Catherine Tramell in "Basic Instinct 2," says she has no problem doing a nude scene — if it's right for the role.

"It's pretty easy for me to be naked," the 48-year-old actress said Wednesday. "I'm a person who feels that if it's appropriate for the character I'm playing or the mood of the piece, then it's no big thing."

Stone is famously known for her "leg crossing" scene in 1992's "Basic Instinct," which also starred Michael Douglas.

The actress said she wouldn't object to her children seeing the movies — but added that it's not going to be anytime soon.

"When they're old enough to see that kind of material, then they're old enough to see that kind of material," said Stone, who has two young sons.

Stone, who was nominated for a best actress Oscar for 1995's "Casino," said she was happy that she didn't try to lie about her age to get roles after she turned 40. "You have to give them you until you is what they want," she said.

"Basic Instinct 2" will be released later this month. Stone was in Berlin to promote the movie.

PAMELA ANDERSON is concerned her biological clock may prevent her from having any more children.

The former BAYWATCH star, 38, already has two kids - BRANDON, nine, and DYLAN, eight, by ex-husband TOMMY LEE - but may have to resort to drastic measures if she is to be a mother again by 40.

She says, "Maybe I have to find a good sperm donor. Sometimes I think I'd like to have another baby.

"I really love children, and once you have two, you might as well have ten.

"But if I do have more kids it'll have to be soon - before I'm 40."

In other news the model-turned actress PAMELA ANDERSON claims she is largely unaffected by her Hepatitis C blood disease because she eats healthily and gets plenty of sleep.

The vegetarian star and mother-of-two insists the disease, which she contracted from ex-husband TOMMY LEE in 2002, allegedly from sharing tattoo needles, is kept at bay by eating avocados.

She says, "You know, my liver gets better every year. I get the biopsy, and I go to UCLA where I have a great doctor: he's the head of department - he pretty much discovered the hepatitis C.

"He says, I'm getting healthier and healthier, and that I should keep doing what I'm doing.

"I'm not on any treatment, but I do eat a lot of avocados."

Lennon friend attacks TV seance to reach ex-Beatle.

Yoko Ono's longtime friend and spokesman on Tuesday said an upcoming TV seance to contact her late husband, ex-Beatle John Lennon, was tacky, exploitative and far removed from the icon's way of life.

"John Lennon was an amazing communicator of heart, mind and spirit. He still speaks to those who choose to listen to his recordings. That was the medium he chose to speak with us. A 'pay per view' seance was never his style," said Elliot Mintz, Ono's spokesman.

Ono has declined to comment on the upcoming pay-per-view seance, to air on iN DEMAND on April 24. But Mintz, a close friend of the former Beatle, said he felt a need to say something and issued a statement to Reuters outlining his own feelings about the program and other recent media events aimed at capitalizing on the 25th anniversary of Lennon's death.

"In the end, such a show only benefits the producers. It's another example of the misuse of John's affirmation of life as opposed to the preoccupation of his death," Mintz wrote.

"The proposed show strikes me as being tasteless, tacky and exploitative," Mintz said.

Last week, the producers of a profitable but failed 2003 attempt to contact the late Princess Diana, announced plans to shoot a new pay-per-view seance to contact Lennon, who was murdered over 25 years ago by Mark David Chapman outside Manhattan's Dakota apartment building where he lived.

While critics skewered the "The Spirit of Diana," the show drew over half a million U.S. viewers willing to pay $14.95 to watch it. The Lennon show will air on April 24 on a pay-per-view channel and cost $9.95.

The producers said they chose Lennon because the former Beatle, like Diana, is an icon and was also a deeply spiritual person. "The Spirit of John Lennon" is being done without the knowledge or consent of John Lennon's estate.

The program will show psychics traveling to sites of significance to the former Beatle, including the Dakota apartment building and a town in India where he went on a spiritual retreat.

The show will culminate as psychics, colleagues and confidantes sit at a seance table for 30 minutes surrounded by infra-red cameras that can capture any "presence" or spirit that enters the room.

Mintz also took issue with a recent NBC "Dateline" broadcast on Lennon's death because it focused on Chapman, rather than Lennon, as well as a new feature film about Chapman, to star Lindsay Lohan and Jared Leto as Chapman.

"The producers of the film will be granting an assassin's dream. It will also send out a message to other disturbed people that there is a fast track to international fame," said Mintz, who has acted as a spokesman for Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Don Johnson, among others.

I don't know who comes off as the bigger douche in this article, the people making the PPV, or Mintz.

I just met Wilmer Valderrama.

Hey you kids. So, I'm in the Salt Lake City (Utah) downtown library, and they just turned it into an airport. Don't ask me how/why. Turns out they're shooting a movie: Unaccompanied Minors. I acted as an extra and I had no intention to be here today. They just told me to walk past some girl and some lady that are in the movie sitting on a table talking. And then Wilmer is like a flight attendant or works for the Hoover International Airport. He is so nice. I wish I had pictures, or even a camera phone. Y'all would be seeing this. He's as close as I'll ever come to Lindsay Lohan. SIGH.

I don't know when it comes out, probably Christmas, considering the IMDB description it gives. I also heard that Dakota Fanning might be in it.

More to come.

Rumors are flying that Katie Holmes may be delivering baby Cruise today in Toledo, Ohio. However, Katie and Tom Cruise were in California yesterday for a Yahoo! The Killers headline @ Ultra Music Fest

MIAMI - It's no surprise that this year's Ultra Music Festival will have superstar DJs unleashing electronic beats from their computers and turntables for gyrating dancers. But the Killers? A rock band headlining a dance-music festival?

A lineup usually dominated by electronic artists such as Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold now includes what organizers call "alternative bands with dance culture influences," such as the Killers, co-headliner the Prodigy and Canadian synthesizer-based combo Hot Hot Heat.

As indie rock crosses over into dance music, Ultra is evolving to embrace those artists and their fans, said Russell Faibisch, who co-founded the festival that takes over Miami's Bicentennial Park on March 25.

SJP wants to change Hollywood stereotypes

Sarah Jessica Parker wants Hollywood producers to start putting older women into romantic lead roles.

According to, the 40-year-old actress thinks Hollywood producers ought to start considering older women for more rom-com lead roles. She also thinks that actresses ought to be more careful about who they surround themselves with.

She explained: "I read [a] script the other day and I said to my agent, 'I'm too old for this part now.' I knew it as soon as I read the description. But it was such a nice thing that I knew it, that I wasn't still trying to cling to something that never really applied to me anyway.

"It's so much better to know the truth and be surrounded by people who will say, 'You know what, you're probably right', than a bunch of people who will let you live in delusion. The truth is, you can't stop the clock."

Is QUEEN LATIFAH planning on motherhood? The rapper-turned-actress breaks news that she hopes to be a mom by this time next year. "I'm really working on it," she says. "I've got everyone galvanized, I've cleared my schedule, and it's going to happen soon. God willing, I will be a mom!"

Latifah, who puts her maternal instincts to use in 'Ice Age: The Meltdown,' says she doesn't plan on being a stay-at-home mom but will make her baby top priority. Ashlee Simpson is re-releasing I Am Me

With all this Jessica and Nick chatter, I'd be remiss not to have some juice on ASHLEE SIMPSON. A pal of the singer tells me she's gone back into the studio to record a new single for a re-release of her current album, I Am Me. Why? I'm told that Interscope Records honcho JIMMY IOVINE is on a mission to turn the 21-year-old into the next GWEN STEFANI. "He has given her what he thinks is a sure pop hit," my source reports. "It's the first song she's recorded that she didn't write." The source says that Simpson is lucky that Stefani is pregnant. "Gwen isn't about to do anything right now, so Jimmy can work on Ashlee," the source says. "The album has done okay, but he wants to add this single to really have it take off."

I'm STOKED, the bonus tracks off the album were good, and the CD was good too, I loved the remix of "L.O.V.E." too :)

Joaquin & Eva: on set behaviour

I love my Phoenix but I do worry about his smoking. How many packs of ciggies can you go through in one day?? Anyway, here they are separately on the set of We Own the Night. And even though those Crisp Lisp gay rumours continue to circulate, I've been informed by a reader named Connie B that I needn't worry because both Defamer and Datalounge have scoffed away any homo speculation. Temporary relief until Ted C's next clue, I suppose.

So anyway - about Joaq and Eva. Heard from spies on the set who tell me that while their chemistry was hot during rehearsals, things have gotten decidely awkward during shoots. Seems like the two are now acting like there's nothing between them. You know when you like someone and they like you but you don't want anyone else to know, you go out of your way to ignore them or to not be aware of them but in reality your entire body starts buzzing whenever they're around? It's that kind of thing. No overt displays of friendliness, all business, ultra professional, and yet everyone around feels something anyway? That's how it was described to me. Could it be pure gay deflection. Of course. But at this point, I'll take whatever I can get.

That's hot.

Pop-Star's Pregnancy Idealized in Brooklyn 'Monument to Pro-Life'

BROOKLYN, NY (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- A nude Britney Spears on a bearskin rug while giving birth to her firstborn marks a 'first' for Pro-Life. Pop-star Britney Spears is the "ideal" model for Pro-Life and the subject of a dedication at Capla Kesting Fine Art in Brooklyn's Williamsburg gallery district, in what is proclaimed the first Pro-Life monument to birth, in April.

Dedication of the life-sized statue celebrates the recent birth of Spears' baby boy, Sean, and applauds her decision of placing family before career. "A superstar at Britney's young age having a child is rare in today's celebrity culture. This dedication honors Britney for the rarity of her choice and bravery of her decision," said gallery co-director, Lincoln Capla. The dedication includes materials provided by Manhattan Right To Life Committee.

"Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston," believed Pro-Life's first monument to the 'act of giving birth,' is purportedly an idealized depiction of Britney in delivery. Natural aspects of Spears' pregnancy, like lactiferous breasts and protruding naval, compliment a posterior view that depicts widened hips for birthing and reveals the crowning of baby Sean's head.

The monument also acknowledges the pop-diva's pin-up past by showing Spears seductively posed on all fours atop a bearskin rug with back arched, pelvis thrust upward, as she clutches the bear's ears with 'water-retentive' hands.

"Britney provides inspiration for those struggling with the 'right choice'," said artist Daniel Edwards, recipient of a 2005 Bartlebooth award from London's The Art Newspaper. "She was number one with Google last year, with good reason --- people are inspired by the beauty of a pregnant woman," said Edwards.

Capla Kesting denies the statue was developed from a rumored bootleg Britney Spears birth video. The artist admits to using references that include the wax figure of a pole-dancing Britney at Las Vegas' Madame Tussauds and 'Britney wigs' characterizing various hairstyles of the pop-princess from a Los Angeles hairstylist. And according to gallery co-director, David Kesting, the artist studied a bearskin rug from Canada "to convey the commemoration of the traditional bearskin rug baby picture."

An appropriate location for permanent installation of "Monument to Pro-Life" by Mother's Day is being sought by the gallery.

"Monument to Pro-Life" is on view April 7th thru 23rd with a reception for the dedication April 7th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Capla Kesting Fine Art, 121 Roebling St., Brooklyn, NY. Gallery hours are 1:00 - 6:00 pm Thursday thru Sunday, or by appointment. The gallery can be reached at or by phone at 646-932-5687.

Paula blames her crazy behavior on Simon

Paula Abdul has an explanation for her recent crazy behavior on American Idol 5: it’s all Simon’s fault. And no, Simon is not a friend of Jack Daniels or Jose Cuervo or Jim Beam or Ernest and Julio Gallo or Johnny Walker. No, Simon is fellow judge Simon Cowell.

Paula says, “He’s worse than ever. If they say, ‘Paula is going crazy,’ the reason is Simon is whispering things in my ear, like, ‘What’s the price of beans?’ Things that make no sense at all,” she tells In Touch Weekly, according to MSNBC’s Jeannette Walls.

Tragically, she doesn’t explain why she is forced to react to those crazy statements, or why his comments also cause her eyes to glaze over.
