Apatow adds Hathaway to Knocked Up.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Anne Hathaway, currently on screen as Jake Gyllenhaal's icy wife in "Brokeback Mountain," is joining the cast of Universal Pictures' "Knocked Up."

The actress is set to star opposite Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in the Judd Apatow romantic comedy.

Apatow is writing, producing and directing the movie, which follows a twentysomething guy who finds out he impregnated his one-night stand. The picture will be similar in budget to his last film, "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," which grossed $109.5 million at the domestic box-office and garnered a Writers Guild of America nomination.

Shooting is slated to start in the early summer.

Hathaway, who made her feature debut in the 2001 Buena Vista/Walt Disney hit "The Princess Diaries," will next be seen in 20th Century Fox's "The Devil Wears Prada."

George Michael had sex toys in car

George Michael had sex toys in car

LONDON, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- British pop star George Michael says his arrest for marijuana possession was "my own stupid fault" but he was not drunk or impaired at the time.

Michael was arrested Sunday after a passing motorist asked police check out a man slumped over the wheel of a car in London.

"I was in possession of class C drugs, which is an offense," Michael said in a statement. "I have no complaints about the police.

"The doctor said I was not impaired in any way," he addend.

It was revealed Monday night that police found some kinky sex toys in the car as well, including a gimp mask used in bondage, the Mirror reported.

It will not be known for about a month whether George will face drug charges.

A picture is starting to clear up here, but there's still all these questions...

Morrissey: I was quizzed by the FBI

It looks like our favourite Moz got himself in a bit of trouble last week. I can just imagine him sitting in his LA apartment, probably reading Oscar Wilde, being interrupted by the FBI knocking down his door .. what an image. I can't stop thinking of that picture of Elian Gonzalaz crying with the soldier's with guns coming to get him. But Morrissey instead of Elian. Hm.

Morrissey: I was quizzed by the FBI

SINGER Morrissey says he was quizzed by the FBI and Special Branch over
his outspoken criticism of the US and British governments.

The former Smiths frontman, who has previously branded American
President George Bush a terrorist and denounced the war in Iraq, said
the experience showed neither country was a democratic society.

He told the NME: "The FBI and the Special Branch have investigated me and I've been interviewed and taped and so forth."

The singer, who lives in Los Angeles, added: "They were trying to
determine if I was a threat to the government, and similarly in England.

"But it didn't take them very long to realise that I'm not."

"I don't belong to any political groups, I don't really say anything
unless I'm asked directly and I don't even demonstrate in public."

Explaining what he thought had prompted the move, the 46-year-old said:
"My view is that neither England or America are democratic societies.
You can't really speak your mind and if you do you're investigated even
though it's just a basic process that must be done."

In 2004 Morrissey urged American voters to get rid of President Bush,
saying he had turned the US into the most "neurotic and terror-obsessed
country on the planet".

He sparked controversy earlier that year when he reportedly told a
concert in Dublin he wished the current president had died instead of
Ronald Reagan.

Associated Press
Updated: 5:02 p.m. ET Feb. 28, 2006

LOS ANGELES - Jake Gyllenhaal should have no fears of typecasting.

Soon after finishing the gay cowboy romance "Brokeback Mountain," Gyllenhaal launched into the role of a testosterone-fueled young soldier thirsty for Gulf War action in "Jarhead."

"Jarhead" will be released on DVD next week, right after the Academy Awards — where "Brokeback" is a favorite and the 25-year-old Gyllenhaal is up for best supporting actor for his portrayal of a lovestruck sheepherder.

George Clooney outs Batman on Barbara Walters' Oscar special tonight. Asked if he'd ever play a gay role, Clooney says he already did — as Batman. "Think about it," he explains. "I was in a rubber suit. I had rubber nipples. I could have played him straight but I didn't. I made him gay." Well, that puts Bruce Wayne's "ward" Robin in a new light …

Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix and Eva Mendes, who will play a couple in "We Own the Night," got better acquainted over an intimate dinner at underground NYC cantina La Esquina Monday night. They later moved on to nightclub Butter, where they partied with Ashley Olsen and Jamie-Lynn Sigler before heading back to the hotel where they're both bunking. Usher denies getting snappy with photographer.

Usher is denying claims that he cursed out a female photographer after finding out she allegedly took pictures of him vacationing with his married stylist.

According to the New York Daily News, photographer Sandra Rose says she was approached by the singer at a recent party in Atlanta and berated about snapping pictures of him in St. Barts with his stylist, Tameka Foster-Brown.

Rose writes on her Web site: "Usher pushed my camera away as he walked by. There were no words exchanged between us and I thought that was the end of it. But he took me by surprise when he doubled back and thrust his finger in my face - his long manicured nail lightly grazing the tip of my nose.

"'Don't you dare!' he cried as 20 or so guests looked on in stunned silence. 'Don't I dare what?' I thought, as he glared at me with nostrils flaring.

"I totally ignored him as he proceeded to scream obscenities in my face. It was clear that Ush was attempting to draw me into a confrontation with him."

Meanwhile, Usher's rep has denied Rose’s claims, telling the New York Daily News, "This story is exaggerated. Usher simply asked the photographer not to take his photo. However, she made several attempts to bypass his security to snap his photo against his will. He never put his fingers in her face and was not in close contact with the photographer."

Alba Threatens Playboy Over Cover Pic.

Image hosting by Photobucket

FEBRARY 28--Actress Jessica Alba, who appears in a bikini on the cover of Playboy's March issue, is threatening to sue the magazine, claiming that Hugh Hefner & Co. are trying to make it seem that she appears in a "nude or semi-nude pictorial." In a February 23 legal threat letter, Alba's lawyer demands that Playboy cease distributing the magazine and provide the 25-year-old actress with a "monetary settlement" for its unauthorized use of her image for commercial purposes. According to Brian Wolf, Alba's counsel, the venerable men's magazine has caused the young star "immeasurable harm" by placing her on its cover (Alba appears next to a cover line billboarding a story on the 25 sexiest celebrities). Wolf charges that Playboy initially offered to pay Alba to appear on the cover, but that they were flatly turned down. The magazine, he added, then resorted to a ruse to obtain a promotional photo of a bikini-clad Alba from Columbia Pictures. That sultry image, from the film "Into the Blue," appears on Playboy's cover. Along with the legal letter from Wolf, a partner at the Los Angeles firm Lavely & Singer, Playboy also received a February 24 letter from a Columbia executive expressing the studio's dismay over the "outrageous, unethical behavior utilized by Playboy personnel to obtain" the Alba promotional photograph. While reserving its legal rights, the studio is demanding an apology for both it and Alba.

Ashlee now loves her womanly curves. She said: "I think I have good curves and they're womanly.

Bruce Willis is PISSED!

Bruce Willis loses it at the "16 Blocks" junket.

title or description

Perhaps it's his age or maybe it was the two-and-a-half feet of snow that blanketed Manhattan the night before, but Bruce Willis pretty much defined the term "loose cannon" when appearing before the press to discuss his new movie "16 Blocks" a few weeks ago. Warner Bros. had to be a tad disheartened that he didn't spend much time talking about his fine performance in Richard Donner's new thriller. Instead, Willis had a ball discussing a number of other topics, such as politics. Willis has identified himself as a Republican in the past, and before a journalist could even ask for his opinion on recent current events, the star interrupted him to set something straight.

"I'm sick of answering this [expletive] question," he says. "I'm a Republican only as far as I want a smaller government, I want less government intrusion. I want them to stop [expletive] on my money and your money and tax dollars that we give 50 percent of... every year. I want them to be fiscally responsible and I want these [expletive] lobbyists out of Washington. Do that and I'll say I'm a Republican... I hate the government, OK? I'm a-political. Write that down. I'm not a Republican."

Willis was so riled up that given more time he might have actually announced his candidacy for something (there's always next time). And yet, Willis wasn't done! Entertainment Weekly just listed "Die Hard 4" as one of the top movies the magazine never wants to see made. Talk about setting someone off...

"Entertainment Weekly hates me. They've hated me since they've been a magazine," Willis says. "[Expletive] them, and you can go and tell them that. Why does anybody hate anybody? Y'know, because they have some beef. Who cares?"

The next thing we know, Willis has segued into a rant about disgraced author James Frey and the dress-down Oprah Winfrey recently gave him on her TV show.

"[To have Frye be] sucker punched on Oprah by one of the most powerful women in television just to grind [her] own ax," Willis says visibly frustrated. "Oprah, you had President Clinton on your show, and if this [expletive] didn't lie about a couple of things, I'm going to set myself on fire right now. James Frey's a writer, he can write whatever he wants. It's shameful how he was treated."

Willis then smartly frames Frey's dilemma in the context of the paparazzi-filled world he deals with every day.

"Have you heard of these magazines called In Touch or Us Weekly or People or any of these types of magazines?" he asks. "They lie about people, and they just make up [expletive] all week long, and you have to sue them to get it changed. I mean, this is the world we live in. They're all [full of] lies, and nobody's yelling at them, so let's leave James Frey alone."

And just in case no one could figure it out, Willis states the obvious. "I'm pissed off today."

After 30 minutes or so of Willis' blunt rants, the Hitlist was left with one indelible image: Willis' longtime publicist, Paul Bloch, covering his face with his hands in disbelief. Bloch was most likely thinking "I pray that they don't print this stuff." Ah, too late...

Emo kids around the world probably had a message in their inbox a few days ago "from" Hawthorne Heights urging that they go out and pick up the new album If Only You Were Lonely. It was a plea to save rock music as we know it..."a battle cry"..."a call to arms". The letter took several jabs at upcoming R&B star Ne-Yo, basically calling him a huge industry tool.

"You might ask, how has ROCK been put on the backburner? A current example is an artist that we are up against called Ne-Yo. Many people are saying that Ne-Yo is going to outsell us because Ne-Yo has had a tremendous amount of over the top, mainstream media coverage. His album will be in stores tomorrow. Radio has played his single 160,000 times. Our single has been played 3,800 times. We know that does not seem possible but it is the truth. Ne-Yo is on a major label. Hawthorne Heights is on an independent label. ROCK music needs to win tomorrow. Independent needs to beat Major tomorrow."
Surprisingly, this jab at Ne-Yo wasn't for reals. Their label made it up in an effort to "rally the troops" and promote independent music in general. Apparently, Hawthorne Heights isn't as stupid as this makes them out to be. They fully realize that their audience is very, very different from the hip-hop crowd. They're right. While Ne-Yo fans are busy pimpin' all over the world, Hawthorne Heights fans are busy crying. All the time. OK not really, but they are certainly NOT pimping.

Well it appears that the boys of HH didn't read the Times this week, because the reviews for them and Ne-Yo were side by side. Kelefa Sanneh takes a jab at HH's song lyrics stating, "Emo bands aren't usually supposed to hire ghostwriters, but these fellows could use a friendly — and probably, these days, expensive — visit from Ne-Yo." BURRRRRN!!!! As in blue...burning orange. Hawthorne Heights = SO DEEP!

'Grey's Anatomy' Jokes at TV Festival + Photos from Getty

They joked, they flirted, they even squabbled a bit, and Ellen Pompeo accidentally called her co-star by his character's name, George.

With a fun familiarity that reflects the show, the cast of ABC's hit series "Grey's Anatomy" kicked off the Museum of Television & Radio's 23rd annual William S. Paley Television Festival on Tuesday.

Ten of the medical comedy-drama's cast members, plus five writers and producers, and the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, filed onstage at the Director's Guild of America to answer questions from a moderator and audience members following a screening of Rhimes' favorite episode, "Into You Like a Train."

"For us, not having a time slot last year, and now all of you watching ... has been great," Rhimes told the screaming audience, mostly women, at the sold-out event.

Teri Hatcher Lies No Mo'... Sort of.

Teri's desperate days of Botox are over

(courtesy of horrible)

The secret of her desperately youthful complexion is a secret no more.
Teri Hatcher has confessed to being a Botox fan. And a collagen convert.

The 41-year-old actress, who revived her career playing Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives, admitted she has had a little help in keeping her face linefree.

"In the past I've had Botox and collagen," she admitted in an interview in America. Botox injections are said to smooth out wrinkles by paralysing facial muscles while collagen plumps up parts that are losing their lustre, especially lips.

Few stars, however, admit to having such procedures, airily proclaiming that their remarkably preserved looks are the results of rigorous exercise, diet or good genes.

Miss Hatcher, however, decided to come clean - because she has apparently decided not to have such treatments again. She said she would let herself age naturally - and gracefully - instead.

"I haven't had anything done to my face in over a year," she said.

"And I don't plan to. It needs to be OK to have wrinkles."

Miss Hatcher astounded her fans when she appeared on Desperate Housewives looking virtually unchanged from her days as Lois Lane in the Superman TV series 15 years ago.

She and fellow cast member Nicollette Sheridan have both repeatedly denied having plastic surgery.

Lol at "desperately youthful complexion".

Joan Rivers and Hulk Hogan prove natural is only better in Arby's chicken.

As part of the launch of its Chicken Naturals menu, Arby’s is introducing two new television ads featuring gossip maven, Joan Rivers, and wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan.

The spots, which run through March 25, 2006, shed light on why natural is only better in Arby’s chicken.

One ad reveals what stand up comedienne and queen of the red carpet Joan Rivers would look like “natural” had she forgone plastic surgery. An almost unrecognizable, very wrinkled, yet bejeweled Joan quickly realizes that natural only works for chicken.

In another ad, the world’s most famous wrestler, Hulk Hogan, also realizes that natural only works for Arby’s chicken when he is transformed into a scrawny version of himself. Decked out in red and yellow wrestling tights, the puny Hulk strains to pull off his signature move -- ripping off his t-shirt.

“Chicken Naturals is a prime example of that something different something better experience Arby’s has been offering for more than 40 years,” said Debra Mager, Senior Vice President of Advertising, Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. “We wanted the creative to be larger than life to match the uniqueness of our new chicken as well as take a step out from what anyone else is doing in the category.”

Arby’s Chicken Naturals, available nationwide this month, is a full menu line of chicken products – a first in the fast food industry -- that starts with 100 percent all natural chicken breast that is not altered or injected with added water, salt or phosphates. The result is better tasting, higher quality chicken.

Clear Channel Threatens Injunction To Keep Bubba Quiet

March 1, 2006

The bombs about Clear Channel that Bubba The Love Sponge was threatening to drop today have been put on hold.

"I've been told by my bosses to shut the f**k up, at this point," said Bubba during his program, sounding annoyed and unleashing a tirade against Clear Channel. What stirred Bubba up is a letter Clear Channel sent to Sirius Satellite Radio threatening an injunction to keep Bubba silent. Bubba was supposed to be free as of last night -- February 28 -- at midnight, but that has been put on hold until the matter can be worked out.

"[Clear Channel] has threatened to file an injunction if we make any disparaging comments that would be a violation of an existing agreement they have," said Bubba's agent, Tom Bean. "We want to make sure we have everybody's best interest at heart in relation to making sure we are not putting anyone in harm's way. We want to get clarification and don't want to end up in a situation where we're indemnifying Sirius against anything and we end up potentially on the hook."

"Not dropping these Clear Channel bombs is not going make or break me or my radio show," added Bubba. "I've gone since January 9 and had some great shows. I don't need to drop Clear Channel bombs. I would like to, just so I can disrupt somebody's life."

The "bombs" that Bubba is promising to drop include what he says are 100 percent truth statements that will "ruin people's lives," including drug and prostitution use. - Source: FMQB

Chamillionaire Shines On With Makaveli.

Chamillionaire will recently named the new face of Makaveli Branded clothing line.

The Houston based MC will be featured prominently in the Tupac-inspired line's spring tribute ad campaign. Previous Makaveli Branded campaigns have featured Scarface, DJ Quik, Twista, DTP, Chingy and actor Omar Epps.

"Chamillionaire was an obvious choice when we were considering candidates for the spring campaign" said Makaveli Branded VP Rick Edwards, via a statement. "Everyone knows the incredible work ethic that Tupac had during his career and I see that same ethic in everything Chamillionaire does. His leadership and music both have contributed greatly to the resurrection of the Houston music scene."

The campaign will be highlighted via magazines like Slam, The Source, XXL and Scratch. Proceeds will be donated to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation and Center of the Arts, which opened last year.

As far his own career is concerned, Chamillionaire continues to keep things rolling. He will be featured in the upcoming April issue of The Source and will be launching a nationwide tour with Lil' Flip on March 30 in San Diego.

The video for his second single "Ridin," off his debut album, The Sound Of Revenge, will be going into rotation on various music video outlets in the coming weeks.

The clip for "Ridin" was directed by Lyfe Garland and features cameos from Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony and actor Tommy 'Tiny' Lister (Friday).

Stapp says release of sex tape an act of sabotage.

Ex-Creed singer believes distribution of video intended to hurt solo career.

Scott Stapp thinks a recently released sex video showing him and Kid Rock with several strippers is meant to sabotage him.

“Obviously someone wants to hurt me and doesn’t want me to be successful in my solo career,” Stapp told AP Radio in a recent interview.

Stapp claims the tape, which was made in 1999, was stolen from him. He and Kid Rock have won a temporary court order preventing World Wide Red Light District from distributing the video or promoting any part of it.

Red Light, which sold the infamous Paris Hilton sex tape in 2004, had displayed a 40-second preview clip of the video on its Web site. The company has acknowledged that the tape came from a third party, but has denied that it was stolen.

The tape was released just days after Stapp, the former lead singer of Creed, married former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat in Miami on Feb. 10.

Stapp, 32, says the tape was made soon after he was divorced from Hillaree Burns.

He said he previously told his new wife about having a wild year and that she accepts the tape as part of his past.

“You think it’s part of your rock ’n’ roll memories,” Stapp said. “I should have burned that tape.”

The tape was not the only thing causing Stapp headaches. A day after his wedding, Stapp was arrested for investigation of being drunk at Los Angeles International Airport. He is set for arraignment on March 8.

“You don’t want to say it’s laughable, but it’s just like, my God, there’s so much stuff,” he said. “Somebody does not like you and somebody wants you to fail.”

Stapp, who won a Grammy in 2000 for Creed’s song “With Arms Wide Open,” released his first solo album, “The Great Divide,” last November.

S.D. school distances self from 'Brokeback' actress

Michelle Williams (second from left) appeared in a Christian Youth Theater production of “Tom Sawyer” in 1990.

Carla Williams raised a daughter her way – a comfortable North County home, elementary and middle school at Solana Beach's Santa Fe Christian where, according to its credo, “the Bible is the standard upon which the educational program is based,” and acting classes at the “family entertainment ” - oriented Christian Youth Theater.

By the time her precociously talented daughter reached ninth grade, Williams was driving her north on Interstate 5 to Hollywood nearly every day for auditions.

Now, Michelle Williams is 25, a mom herself and an Academy Award nominee in the supporting actress category for “Brokeback Mountain,” which earned eight Oscar nods in all. The ceremony will be broadcast at 5 p.m. Sunday on KGTV/Channel 10.

A provocative film about two cowboys in Wyoming whose friendship becomes a romance, “Brokeback Mountain” is a long way from the rigorous religious precepts of Santa Fe Christian and the G-rated productions of “The Sound of Music” at CYT. Nevertheless, Carla Williams is ecstatic about her daughter's success: “She's sweet, she has a heart, I'm so proud of her.”

Not so proud is Santa Fe Christian headmaster Jim Hopson. “We don't want to have anything to do with her in relation to that movie,” said Hopson, who turned down a request from a Union-Tribune reporter to visit the school and chat with students about the movies and one of their own being up for an Academy Award.

“Michelle doesn't represent the values of this institution. We would not approve of her movies and TV shows (including the teen drama “Dawson's Creek”). We'd not like to be tied to 'Brokeback Mountain.'

“I hope we offered her something in life. But she made the kinds of choices of which we wouldn't approve. 'Brokeback Mountain' basically promotes a lifestyle we don't promote. It's not the word of God.”

Andre 3000 Gets Animated For "Class of 3000".

Image hosting by TinyPic

Andre "3000" Benjamin appeared at a Cartoon Network breakfast to preview his forthcoming animated series, "Class of 3000," earlier today (March 1).

As SOHH previously reported, the series follows a group of musically inclined kids at Atlanta's Westley School of Performing Arts who find a mentor in Sunny Bridges, a Westley alumnus-turned-superstar who leaves the limelight to give back to his old school.

Though one of the kids, Lil D, is loosely based on Dre's childhood, the emcee lands his voice to Bridges. According to Dre, who created the show with co-executive producer Tom Lynch, the tandem took two years to build the series, fine tuning details from the show's music to the character's ethnic diversity.

"I come from the projects and [I used to] go all the way across town to school, which is in Buckhead, a prominent part of Atlanta," said Dre at the event. "And I went to school with mayor's kids and commissioner's kids, so it was a mash up then. One of my best friends, he was French. Another best friend was Indian.

"So when we created the show, we didn't want it to be just all black characters or all white characters," he added. "We just created a world and it kind of mirrors what's going on right now. Everybody hang out with everybody. It's not like you just stay in your own little clique. There's a huge Crayola box going on."

Though the show is slated to debut this fall, Dre is planning ahead. He hopes to release a soundtrack featuring the series' music and plans are already in motion to land guest appearances for the show's second season.

"We're reaching out to a lot of people," Dre revealed. "A lot of people are interested. Every time you drop an album, you kinda go through this whole run. You do "TRL"-you do all those shows. I think 'Class of 3000' will be one of those places that record companies will say, 'We want our artist to be on this show.' It'll be a cool place."

Despite his character decision to leave the music industry, Dre says he plans to continue recording and even mentioned that a new Outkast album would be coming soon.

In related news, Big Boi, Dre's partner-in-rhyme, will be hitting the big screen on his own in the Chris Robinson-directed ATL. The film also stars T.I..

Andre 3000's "Class of 3000" is scheduled to premiere in November 2006 on the Cartoon Network.

Keira & Jaime

Image hosting by Photobucket Keira Knightley's ex-boyfriend Jamie Dornan has broken his silence, admitting it was the starlet's rapid rise to fame that caused their break-up last summer. "There is a big pressure when you go out with someone such as Keira," model Dornan told the Daily Mirror. "The man is meant to be the alpha in the relationship on the money and power front and clearly I was not. You feel like you have to be dominant in other areas and that causes problems." However, Jamie, who has remained on good terms with his Oscar-nominated ex, says it was her that offered him a route out of the relationship. "Keira could see what I was going through. She was the one who finally said, 'OK, that's it, I've had enough.'" Keira is now dating her Pride & Prejudice co-star Rupert Friend and was spotted on holiday with him in the Bahamas last week.
