Hotel heiress PARIS HILTON has warned actress CHARLIZE THERON to watch out - because the pair could soon be battling for the same movie roles.

The 25-year-old socialite, who previously appeared in critically-derided horror film HOUSE OF WAX, is confident she shares a similar screen style to Theron.

And Hilton has no qualms about putting herself in direct competition with the Oscar-winning star.

She explains, "My acting coach told me I have a similar style of acting to her so we may end up vying for the same parts."

John Mayer -- Star's backstage demands range from Count Chocula to Krazy Glue

FEBRUARY 27--Pity the poor production slave who is tasked to handle the dressing room demands of John Mayer when the guitarist rolls into Arizona for his trio's April 1 appearance at the Tempe Music Festival. The backstage rider for Mayer, who is touring with bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan, includes a variety of items that we have not previously seen requested by other performers. Yes, the affable Mayer wants thinly sliced meat, soy milk, and an organic fruit bowl, according to the rider, an excerpt of which you'll find below.

But he also appears deeply committed to maintaining his oral hygiene and pleasant, toothy smile. Promoters must provide the 28-year-old musician with four "soft head" toothbrushes, a bottle of Listerine, two small tubes of mint-flavored toothpaste (Sensodyne or Tom's of Maine), and two packages of Altoids breath mints. Mayer also needs four organic lip balms and some Gold Bond powder. And how can you not love a guy who requires a copy of The New York Times and one box of a "Kids Brand Cereal" (either Cap'n Crunch, Count Chocula, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, or Cinnamin Toast Crunch).

And as for those two tubes of Krazy Glue, don't draw the incorrect conclusion that some illicit huffing is occurring backstage. It's our guess that the young bluesman uses the sticky stuff to somehow mend fingers shredded on his Stratocaster.

Rapper Master P, his brother face trial on gun possession charges.

Image hosting by TinyPicImage hosting by TinyPic

A day after appearing on the "Dancing With the Stars" finale, Master P headed to court Monday where a judge ordered the rap mogul and his younger brother to stand trial on weapons charges.

Master P, 38, whose real name is Percy Miller, and his 30-year-old brother Vyshonn Miller, also a rapper who uses the stage name Silkk The Shocker, were arrested last January after University of California at Los Angeles police pulled them over. Prosecutors say the officers noticed a revolver under the driver's seat of the car, which was driven by the younger Miller, and a semiautomatic handgun on the passenger's seat, where Master P was sitting.

"Neither guns were registered to either of them," said Deputy District Attorney Hamid Towfigh.
They were charged with one felony count each of carrying an unregistered, loaded firearm. They face up to three years in state prison if convicted, Towfigh said.

Both are free on bail and are scheduled to return to court March 13 for arraignment.

Master P, founder and CEO of No Limit Records, paired with professional dancer Ashly DelGrosso for "Dancing With the Stars" after his teen rapper son, Lil' Romeo, dropped out of the ABC reality competition because of a basketball injury. He was rejected after the fourth show, but returned for a last dance Sunday.

In recent years, Master P has tried out for different NBA teams, including the Sacramento Kings and the Denver Nuggets. He also starred with his son on the Nickelodeon TV show "Romeo!"

The Celebrity Trust Index

Sophisticated celebrity-ranking survey shows which famous people Americans feel most influenced by as brand-shills, and why. (New York celebs are usually less well-liked.)

Just what’s wrong with the famous people of New York, anyway? According to what’s being touted as the most sophisticated metric of a celebrity’s “ability to influence consumer purchase intent,” the brand-new Davie-Brown Index, our local stars come up short.

The DBI, which was introduced February 13, goes a step beyond the 41-year-old Q rating—which is based on two factors, how many people have heard of Celebrity X and how many people name him or her as one of their favorites—by surveying 1.5 million Americans to score the boldfaced on eight key attributes: “appeal,” “notice” (their pop ubiquity), “trendsetter” (their position as such), “influence” (do they have any?), “trust,” “endorsement” (spokespersonability), “aspiration” (do we want his or her life?), and “awareness” (expressed as a percentage). The scores are then cross-referenced in a database that supposedly will help advertisers decide who among a list of more than 1,500 celebrities will help them hawk their wares. Access costs $20,000 a year.

“It provides a systematic approach for quantifying and qualifying the use of celebrities,” boasts Davie-Brown Talent president Jeff Chown. Thanks to the DBI, ad agencies can be reminded of that which we all know, that Tom Hanks (No. 1) and Oprah Winfrey (No. 2) rule the world, followed by: Bill Cosby, Michael J. Fox, Michael Jordan, Robin Williams, Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, and Tiger Woods. Or discover that Dolly Parton still ranks among the top-ten females. “I think it will be incredibly valuable when we look to marry various celebrities with various brands,” says BBDO New York president John Osborn, whose company has already subscribed. “This tool enables you to go much deeper” than Q Scores, he adds.

Local celebs don’t fare well. Michael J. Fox is our top male. And Whoopi Goldberg (last seen touting Slim-Fast) is our top female, clocking in at 21. Only Tom Brokaw and Bobby De Niro (who’s done AmEx) crack the top twenty of either sex. Even Donald Trump is stuck at 103, which he found outrageous. “I want to know who did this survey,” he says. “It’s ridiculous. I don’t agree with it. Give me a break.”

As for Paris Hilton (229): 84.8 percent of respondents have been unable to escape being aware of her—which doesn’t mean they like her (44.3) or trust her (36.7). But Carl’s Jr., who had her wash a car in their ad, has no regrets. “It was a hot, spicy burger; she looked hot in the ad,” says Brad Haley, executive vice-president of marketing. “Her tagline was ‘That’s hot!’—that was pretty much the thought process behind the ad. I don’t think you want to make too much of a science out of this kind of thing.”

Kristin Cavallari & Brody Jenner Split

Image hosting by Photobucket

Kristin Cavallari, 19, and Brody Jenner, 22, have called it quits. The reality stars -- she, of Laguna Beach fame, he, of the short-lived Fox show, Princes of Malibu -- had been dating since September 2005 and were a regular fixture on the Hollywood party circuit. In fact, the couple first met at a Stuff Magazine party held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where Brody, the son of Olympian Bruce Jenner, was introduced to Kristin by mutual friend (and fellow Laguna alumnus), Talan Torriero. They made their red carpet debut three days later at the PETA Humanitarian Awards Show, where Kristin was recognized for her anti-fur stance.

Kristin told TEEN PEOPLE in an interview for our March cover story that Brody was her "first mature relationship" and, in truth, her first "real love," relegating her well-documented high school relationship with Laguna's Stephen Colletti to a thing of the past. She also credited Brody with steering her clear of drugs like cocaine. "He would kill me, which is good," she said. "I would never want to date someone who's into it."

With their frequent canoodling in Hollywood hot spots like Mood, Teddy's and Privilege all signs pointed to a healthy relationship for Kristin and Brody, leaving some to speculate about the cause of the sudden split. As of yet, Kristin has not spoken publicly about the break-up and her representative could not be reached for comment.

Kristy Swanson claims she's not a homewrecker...

Swanson: 'I'm No Homewrecker'

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Kristy Swanson has lashed out at reports she's a 'homewrecker', following allegations she broke up pro skater Lloyd Eisler's marriage.

Swanson and Eisler fell in love when the former Olympics hero was teaching the actress how to dance on the ice for reality show Skating With Celebrities, and the sportsman's estranged wife Marcie claims she was dumped for her husband's TV partner.

But Swanson insists Marcie Eisler, who was pregnant when her husband started dating the actress, isn't being completely honest.

She insists the TV show had finished taping when she started dating Eisler, who was then separated from his wife.

The actress says, "There was no romantic relationship while we were working. It (romance) started in November, after the show."

But Swanson isn't about to let the romance scandal ruin her new relationship: "Things are great and we're really happy."

I don't buy it... she says they didn't hook up while doing the show, but it seemed pretty obvious to me that they were hooking up just watching the way they interacted on the show.

Nelly Expanding Apple Bottom Brand.

Image hosting by TinyPic

Rapper and entrepreneur Nelly is expanding his Apple Bottom clothing brand to include lingerie, shoes, handbags, plus size clothing, and childrensware.

Apple Bottom, which launched in July 2003, is gearing up for a children's print ad campaign featuring celebrity rappers, including Nelly, Ali from the St. Lunactics, Big Gipp from Goodie Mobb and Jermaine Dupri, paired with their daughters.

"We got the campaign going just [to show] we are fathers as well [as rappers]," Nelly said about the ads for the children's line, which is set to launch in nine months. "Apple Bottoms is more of a family-oriented line, and I want to make sure we put that out there as well."

Nelly made the announcement during a press conference held during the 2006 MAGIC Convention in Las Vegas.

The company announce plans to expand into other areas of women's fashion as well, such as the under-served urban plus-size market. Nelly said inspiration for the line came from his love for fashion.

"As a man you kinda know what you are attracted to when you see a young lady walking. You kinda know what turns your head, if she's looking right or styled right, so you try to lend those influences to the designer," he said. "Hopefully they can come up with something that's original that will benefit our [Apple Bottom] line."

Oliver Stone On Madonna: Madonna plays hooker' better than saint'!

Image hosting by TinyPic

Washington: Oscar winning director Oliver Stone has slammed Madonna's performance as the famous Argentinian first lady Eva Peron in the 1996 musical Evita', and thinks that though the Hung Up' singer played the hooker' part of Peron's to perfection, she failed when it came to playing the saint' part of her life.

Stone, who had wanted to be the one to make the bio-pic on Peron's life, said that Madonna had been the wrong choice for the role, for she had been able to play one part of Peron's life.

“The thing about Eva Peron was that she was a hooker and a saint. Madonna could do the hooker but not the saint,” Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

"Lindsay snubs celeb friends"

Party-hard star Lindsay Lohan has snubbed equally skinny celeb chums Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton.
The 19-year-old actress has said the Simple Life stars are not really her friends, despite being snapped out on the razz with the girls on several occasions.

She said she hadn’t talked to Nicole Richie ‘in a while’ and denied being best buddies with Paris Hilton saying: ‘I’m acquaintances with these people, I’m not friends with all these people.

‘I don’t necessarily know things about their lives.’

The shrinking star was photographed chumming around with Nicole Richie last summer, sparking rumours she had an eating disorder.

Maybe they could all make friends over a nice juicy burger.

E-40 and Lil' Jon Share Strippers, Weed and New Music.

E-40 and Lil' Jon treated industry insiders to free weed and strippers during a listening session for 40's My Ghetto Report Card at New York City's Electric Lady Studios last night (February 27).

Two hours into the session, Jon and 40 surfaced and began taking photos with BME Recordings staffers and the slang master's crew. Moments later, John proceeded to walk across the studio, offering attendees generous portions of weed out of two ziplock bags.

Once a few blunts were ignited, exotic dancers came out to entertain the listeners. Showered with singles, dancers treated several heads to personal dances while others performed a myriad of X-rated stunts on one another.

Meanwhile, David Banner, Chamillionaire, T-Pain, BET's Jullisa, MTV's Sway, DJ Drama, DJ Kay Slay and R&B singer Avant were all stopped by to show support. Warner executive Kevin Liles left the event before things truly kicked off.

In the end, journalists on hand to review the album were left listening to a mix of E-40 classics and only a few cuts from his new album, My Ghetto Report Card.

In related news, 40 will be among the Bay Area artists featured in MTV's "My Block: The Bay." The show, hosted by Sway, will also feature Too Short and Hieroglyphics, among others.

E-40's My Ghetto Report Card is slated to drop in March.

Vegas clubs scolded for welcoming Paris' man.

Tao, Hard Rock Hotel get warning for admitting underage Niarchos.

Image hosting by TinyPic

Two Las Vegas clubs have been put on notice for allowing Paris Hilton’s underage boyfriend into their establishments on New Year’s Eve.

Tao Asian Bistro in The Venetian and Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel received warning letters last month from the Clark County Business License Department after investigators determined that Stavros Niarchos, 19, was allowed into the clubs.

Hilton, co-star of “The Simple Life” reality series, recently celebrated her 25th birthday.

Both clubs were told they had violated county code, but were not issued citations because operators had cooperated with county agents, the letters said.

A security guard caught on a surveillance tape escorting the couple into the club was fired and the doorman who did not ask Niarchos for identification was suspended, said Jim Bowen, vice president and chief financial officer of the Hard Rock Hotel.

Several years ago, the resort made news when it ejected an underage Britney Spears.

Before heading to Body English, Niarchos had been denied entry to Tao. The club then opened an adjoining bistro and “effectively created a nightclub environment,” Business License Director Jacqueline Holloway wrote to Tao co-owner Rich Wold.

“Tao maintains a strict door policy and the staff never allows patrons under the age of 21 into the nightclub, regardless of their celebrity or status,” the club said in a statement.

Tao is not owned or operated by The Venetian hotel-casino.

Trump shames guest into good manners

NEW YORK, NY, United States (UPI) -- 'The Apprentice' boss Donald Trump was incensed to hear a member of his Palm Beach, Fla., club did not tip his staff after they found her diamond bracelet.

The security guard and waiter found the $2 million diamond and platinum bauble at Trump`s Mar-a-Lago resort and returned it to the unidentified woman who had lost it during a recent dinner/dance headlined by Jay Leno, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Outlaw Biker magazine founder Casey Exton said upon learning the member left without tipping the honest employees, Trump called her and gave her a good talking-to, the Daily News said.

Trump reportedly shamed her into returning to the club Sunday and leaving two fat envelopes for his staff.

The guest, who the Daily News declined to name, refused to say how much she left as a reward, saying: 'I don`t think that`s anybody`s business -- that`s ugly.'

It's unfortunate that people feel the need to be rewarded for doing the right thing, but at the same time, I would think Trump wants to maintain an image that his employees do not steal from guests. Maybe he feels if employees are rewarded when they find lost items they are more likely to encourage other employees to do the same. Sticky one. Why didn't he just reward them himself if he felt so strongly about it? But it's nice to hear he takes care of his employees and a tip would have been nice.

Another person famous because of myspace

LOS ANGELES - Amateur filmmaker David Lehre first screened his short film "MySpace: The Movie" about a month ago at his 21st birthday party.

Since then, the spoof of the popular networking site has been viewed more than 6 million times through various online sites and has prompted a development deal offer from MTVU, contact from Hollywood managers and a complimentary e-mail from MySpace co-founder Tom Anderson.

"I've never had stuff go as fast as it is now," Lehre, who still lives at home with his parents in Washington, Mich., told the Los Angeles Times.

Lehre started making films with the same cast and crew in 10th grade, after he and his friends where denied parts in the high school theater production of "Little Women."

"I thought, 'Let's make a movie.' They're like, 'Do you know how to make a movie?' I was like, 'I don't know. I'll figure it out,'" Lehre said. "I was sick of other people deciding if I could entertain or not. I thought, if they won't give me a chance, then I'll make my own movie."

Lehre's 11-minute short parodies the habits of the popular social networking site. It is told in five scenes, beginning with an underwear-clad teen who vainly takes pictures of himself in the bathroom until his mothers barges in. Another scene features a showdown between a boy and his girlfriend who demands his password to view incriminating photos on his page. The final scene shows a partygoer — an actor portraying MySpace's Anderson — vomiting while his friends capture it on camera.

The film was written by Lehre and his best friend, Jeremy Kerr, and the skits were improvised by them and their friends. It took Lehre two months to film, edit and score the movie.

Lehre said he and his friends have 50 films to their credit and receive the support of local businesses, including a theater that screens their latest projects.

"MySpace: The Movie" was posted Jan. 28 to Lehre's personal Web site, DavidLehre.com, and three days later it was placed on YouTube.com by a user named "eggtea," who downloaded it from Lehre's site and uploaded it to the popular video sharing site.

About 20,000 videos are uploaded to YouTube each day and more than 15 million are watched. With 3.4 million viewings, "MySpace: The Movie" ranks as the site's most viewed video.

The film also has been on rotation on Current TV, a new network aimed at the 18-to-34-year-old audience that reaches 20 million U.S. homes.

Lehre was recently offered a development deal by MTVU, which is MTV's on-air, online and on-campus network.

"The whole point here is to incubate and develop (Lehre's) talent even further as we showcase it," said MTVU's head of programming, Ross Martin.

Kingsley downplays 'Sir' furore

Image hosting by TinyPic

A film poster for "Lucky Slevin" which credits actor Sir Ben Kingsley with his full title was "unintentional", his agent has said. "He has never been credited with this title before and never will be in the future," she told the BBC News website.

The Oscar winner came under fire from film producer Lord Puttnam earlier this month, who called him "barmy" for insisting on being called Sir. Promotional material for new film Lucky Number Slevin calls the 62-year-old actor Sir Ben Kingsley.

"I was shocked when I found out what had happened," Sir Ben was reported as saying in the Sunday Telegraph. "The reaction to the poster from people in our profession was totally justified but it was to someone else's faux pas. No-one's ever asked for the title to be used in this way because it's not the way we work in this profession. It's always been and should always be Ben Kingsley. I think some well-meaning executive sat down and said, 'what shall we call him: Ben Kingsley, Sir Ben or even Sir Kingsley?' The upshot is it goes off in a memo and no-one thinks to stop it," added the actor, who was honoured with a knighthood in 2001.

Sir Ben, whose screen credits include Schlindler's List and the House of Sand and Fog, also told the newspaper that he was "proud" of the the title, but had learnt to be "quietly proud". When the actor was invested as a Knight he said: "There is no Mr Ben Kingsley anymore. Being a Sir brings with it responsibility."

Sir Ben later criticised a German reporter for calling him Mr Kingsley.

"It's Sir Ben. I've not been a mister for two years," he said.

i kind of have to agree with Lord Puttnam... blimey.

"Brokeback" named Hollywood word of the year

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - And the winner for Hollywood's word of the year is "Brokeback," thanks to all the talk around the water cooler and Internet jokes that have turned a film about two gay cowboys into a cultural phenomenon.

The nonprofit group Global Language Monitor placed "Brokeback" -- as in the film title "Brokeback Mountain" -- at the top of its list of Hollywood words and phrases that captured attention this year.

Paul JJ Payack, the head of Global Language Monitor, said the movie became a cultural phenomenon that generated a million jokes, according to Google. Overall, a Google search shows more than 38 million references to the film, although only about 10 million people saw the movie.

In second place was "Brangelina," the hybrid name given to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as Hollywood's hottest new couple. They beat out "TomKat," bestowed on Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and "Vincifer," a hardly used term referring to Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.

Placing third on the list was "petronoia," a phrase inspired by the film "Syriana" and meaning an irrational fear of the collapse of the oil industry followed by global economic crisis.

In fourth place was "tuxedo," a reference to the nature film "March of the Penguins." Payack said, that "while the dialogue, not to mention the stars, were a bit stiff, the chronicle about Emperor penguins in their breeding trek across Antarctica flew to remarkable heights."

Payack said the term "pimping" was fifth on his list, thanks to the film "Hustle & Flow," which is about a pimp's dream of becoming a rap star.

Hugh Grant attacks a photographer

Free Image Hosting - www.supload.com

English actor Hugh Grant reportedly struck a photographer with a manila folder on the streets of New York City on Tuesday. The Four Weddings And A Funeral heartthrob, 45, lashed out at an unnamed paparazzo while walking down Central Park South at 9:20am, according to the New York Daily News. Former Daily News spokesman Ken Frydman, who witnessed the incident, says, "Hugh Grant had his head down, looking at his cell phone, when this young guy started flashing his camera." Grant responded by taking photographers of the snapper with his camera phone, saying, "How do you like it, mate?" before calling the paparazzo a "p**sy" and slapped the manila folder he was carrying across his head. Frydman explains, "The photographer kept smirking at him. He said, 'I don't know what you're so mad about.' (Grant responded), 'You're invading my privacy. This is your last warning, you c**t.' The photographer kept taunting him. That's when Grant kicked him in the butt. Not hard - he was just trying to shove him away. I said to the photographer, 'Leave him alone or he's going to hit you again.' I said to Hugh Grant, 'Don't hit him again, or he's going to sue you.'"

oh what a monster we've created.

when i am called by my manager to read a post that is burning through the internet it makes me wonder. ive never responded to rumours or shittalking online, no matter who it came from- at the same time there is nothing that makes my blood boil more than reading this- being who i am, my first instinct is to blow it off- but then i consider how anytime anything is written on the internet people believe its true- no matter what, no matter the biases or subjectivity of the sources. my first instinct is to lash out- to say everything i think about you and every situation- to defend myself and attack you. as unbelievable as it is- i am an extremely insecure person- everytime i read something about myself negative or positive i react in probably the exact same way anyone would.

but like i said- i am going to continue to do this my own way, what i consider to be the higher road. i understand when we get angry we often lash out- ive done it myself on many occassions. if you want to talk to me about any of this call me on my cell phone and we can do it one on one-

i will not be responding to anything else-

however, the attacks about our fans and the people that listen to this music and read these words is completely offbase- the fans of this band are my entire life- ive lost my girlfriend, my friends, much of my "normal" life- just to keep this relationship going- this isn't to say that i dont make mistakes, take misteps. just because youve seen me on tv or at a show doesn't make me anything less or more than human. you dont ever see the other side of the way we agonize over every decision we make or try our best to please everyone- because we've given up in bands before and we know how it feels and we dont want that to happen. everyone in the band is upset about this- remember everyone that makes up fall out boy- they all wanted me to voice that we appreciate our fans and friends that weve met more than anything- and that we realize because of where we are all the arrows are pointed at us- but we will try our best. and we do try our best. we also, have far more faith in the intelligence and dedication of the people that believe in us to think that they will be swayed easily. if you want to hear other stories of how we actually talk about our fans or think of them please ask other bands, they will testify to how we really act. we just want you to know that in four years when noone cares, we still hope you are there. im not going to freak out or whatever, but please an attack on our fans or our relationship with them as a p.r. move is uncalled for.

this doesn't need to be reposted anywhere- i am sure that fob fans know where to find it.

chris if you want to talk the phone line is there.

i wrote this pretty fast so i apologize for the typos and run-ons.

until then, thank you to everyone who reserves judgment and has my back until the end of time.

One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush has petitioned to annul her five-month marriage to Chad Michael Murray, PEOPLE has learned.

In papers released by the Los Angeles Superior Court, the actress cited “fraud” as the grounds for annulling the union. There was no explanation of the alleged fraud.

A fraud claim can be "difficult to prove," Hollywood divorce attorney Sorrell Trope told PEOPLE. If a judge denies Bush's annulment request, she can seek a divorce from Murray.

Bush, 23, and Murray, 24, who still costar on the WB show where they first met in 2003, separated in September.

"Sophia went into the marriage believing in the sanctity of marriage," a friend of the actress told PEOPLE in October, "and Chad simply did not share that vision."

Renee Zellweger also famously annulled her five-month marriage to Kenny Chesney in December on grounds of fraud, though she clarified in a statement that "'fraud' is simply legal language and not a reflection of character."

Kelly Osbourne (didn't see it in the monthly archives)

Singer Kelly Osbourne has lost a stone (6.35 kilograms)in weight - by going on a chocolate diet.

The 21-year-old, daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his music manager wife Sharon, credits living on her own in her luxury £1 million apartment - a birthday present from her parents - for her new slimmer figure.

She says, "I live on my own now, so I don't cook.

"If hungry I eat chocolate. That's my only diet - and I've lost a bit of weight."

I'm thinking this is bullshit, but diet or not she's looking fabulous just now. (also I think Heat magazine said she's lost 2stone (24lbs), not 1.

Spears Takes Katrina Victims Shopping

2 hours, 12 minutes ago

NEW ORLEANS - Pop star
Britney Spears spent part of Mardi Gras with a group of Metairie students whose lives were upended when Hurricane Katrina devastated the area six months ago.

Standing in the French Quarter surrounded by St. Catherine of Siena School dancers wearing "Gatorettes" uniforms, Spears talked Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America" of her recent "surprise" meeting with four older students from the suburban New Orleans school.

On a recent morning, the girls sat down to breakfast with City Councilman Jay Batt, thinking they were there to discuss the effects of Katrina. Then Spears walked in, greeted with squeals.

"It was awesome. I will never forget it," said 14-year-old Lindsay Hernandez, who lived with 21 relatives and friends after her home was destroyed.

Spears took the girls shopping and to dine at one of Cajun chef Emeril Lagasse's restaurants for some Southern comfort food, including fried chicken and red beans and rice. There, the conversation turned from shopping to Katrina.

"We had to go to a shelter," said Auntrell Prosper, 17, who still has Beyonce posters on her bedroom walls in her devastated home. She now lives with her family in a trailer.

Spears gave the girls fleur-de-lis pins on blue ribbons, and she surprised the school's dance troupe, the Gatorettes.

"It was an honor to be here with all of them," Spears said.

"Patrick Dempsey reveals he has Dyslexia"

Free Image Hosting - www.supload.com

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey said his childhood wasn't so McDreamy: he wasn't diagnosed as being dyslexic until he was 12 years old.

"I think it's made me who I am today," said Dempsey, who plays neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd on the hit ABC series, in an interview on The Barbara Walters Special airing Wednesday night at 10 p.m. EST. "It's given me a perspective of - you have to keep working," Dempsey told Walters.

"I have never given up."

Dempsey, 40, said he struggles while reading scripts and memorizing his lines.

"I think that's when I get the most insecure...it's very hard for me to read it off the page," he said.

"I need to memorize it, in order to go on."

Dempsey, now experiencing a career comeback since dropping off Hollywood's radar screen after his 1980s romantic comedy days, said he was once prone to difficult behaviour.

"You can't have temper tantrums," he said.

"You have to be professional and I don't think I understood that at the time."

On Grey's Anatomy, Dempsey's character is nicknamed "Dr. McDreamy" by the hospital's female interns, including Dr. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo.

Walters also interviewed Matthew McConaughey, George Clooney, an Oscar nominee in multiple categories and Mariah Carey, for the 25th edition of her Oscar special.

The show, which previously aired before the Oscars show on the East Coast and immediately following the show on the West Coast, was moved back this year to the last night of sweeps and following an original episode of Lost.

The Oscars are slated to air Sunday on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.

CBS Radio Sues Howard Stern
By SETH SUTEL, AP Business Writer

NEW YORK - CBS Corp.'s radio division sued Howard Stern Tuesday, claiming its former star shock jock breached his contract with them when he moved to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.

The lawsuit, which also names Sirius and Stern's agent as defendants, claims Stern improperly used CBS radio's air time to promote his new show with Sirius, which began last month. CBS also claims Stern discussed his plans with Sirius without disclosing them to CBS as required under his contract.

Even before the lawsuit was filed in New York State Supreme Court, Stern tried to upstage the action with a hastily arranged news conference in Manhattan Tuesday to strike first at his former employer.

Stern said the lawsuit was meritless, and said CBS was trying to "bully" him. He called the lawsuit a "personal vendetta" against him by CBS Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves, whom Stern said held a grudge against him.

Stern said CBS officials knew of his plans to leave for Sirius and also condoned his references to satellite radio on the air and did nothing to stop him when he spoke about it on his show.

CBS Radio had formerly been known as Infinity Broadcasting, part of the Viacom Inc. conglomerate before CBS split up with Viacom at the beginning of this year.

Stern called the news conference after The New York Post's widely read gossip column Page Six published an item Tuesday saying CBS was on the verge of filing a lawsuit against him.

Stern moved his popular and bawdy morning show to satellite radio last month after years of railing against decency restrictions imposed on terrestrial radio by the
Federal Communications Commission.

CBS wants Stern, his agent, Don Buchwald, and Sirius to return any financial benefits they received from using CBS radio's air time to promote Sirius, including the value of a tranche of Sirius shares that Stern and Buchwald received early for exceeding a target for subscriber increases by the end of 2005.

That block of 34.4 million Sirius shares was originally worth $100 million at the time the deal was announced in 2004, but its value swelled to $200 million by the time Stern actually received the shares at the beginning of 2006, bringing the total value of his five-year deal to about $600 million.

At current prices, the shares are worth about $175 million. Stern's deal with Sirius specifies that costs for producing and marketing the show must be paid out of the compensation he receives.

Sirius spokesman Patrick Reilly said the company didn't have a comment yet because its lawyers had not reviewed the suit.

Sirius shares fell 12 cents or 2.3 percent to close at $5.11 in regular trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market Tuesday, and they fell another 6 cents to $5.05 in after-hours trading.

From here.

Hey guys, I just finished watching the live press conference for the new season of America's Next Top Model.
Jay Manuel, Nigel Barker, and Ken Mok (producer) were the ones taking the calls, and they were surprisingly all pretty tame.
Because I'm a dedicated ONTD mod (and have nothing better to do with my Tuesday night), I typed up most of the questions that people phoned in with, and the answers from Jay/Nigel/Ken.

Quote of the night:
Jay: Some of these web people are just RUTHLESS!

I typed all of this up, so yeah, there are probably going to be a few typos (forgive me.) Most of the questions are pretty word-for-word, but definitely not exact. I'm a fast typer, but not that fast.
P.S. Sam (g3k) is going to be updating with some audio from the conference soon, so you'll be able to hear everything word-for-word. HERE IT IS!

janet vs. mariah?

Last we heard Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson were going to head to the studio together...but is it possible that they could be heading to the boxing ring instead?

You may have heard that Mariah has recently been cast in the "indie" film Tennessee, but is it possible that Janet Jackson was ousted for a more high-profile diva? Or did she just "drop out" as some sources say.

"Jackson was lined up to play a role in Lee Daniel's film, Tennessee, however the deal fell through and will not be going ahead. Mariah Carey has now been cast in the role."- wikipedia

George Clooony Warns Lindsay Lohan: Fame Is Fleeting

George Clooney has warned teen star Lindsay Lohan she is heading for a career slump because nobody can stay successful forever. Lohan is a huge star at the tender age of 19, but Clooney insists she'll never maintain her intense level of achievement for the next 50 years.

The actor - who didn't find fame until he was 33 - says, "You can't remain totally famous over a long period of time. Lindsay Lohan is going to have a low point in her career. I don't know her at all, she may be completely together. What I mean is, I wouldn't have been prepared for the down period if I hadn't gone through it for a long time before my career really took off."

Britney Hits Mardi Gras-Read last line! HAH!

While the party is undoubtedly the draw for thousands upon thousands of people to flock to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, for Britney Spears, this year's celebration took on a different meaning.

Access Hollywood's Maria Menounos spoke with Britney in the heart of the French Quarter to find out what made this year's event different from all the rest, in light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina just six months ago.

"Tell me why you thought it was important to be here," Maria asked Britney.

"I think it's just important for New Orleans because they're such a soulful city, that for them to keep the traditions going as much as possible now, they need this – the spirit of it," the Louisiana native told Maria.

The spirit of New Orleans was indeed alive and well, as hordes of Mardi Gras partiers gathered under Britney's balcony on Monday night as she, along with her cousin Laura Lynn, tossed handfuls of beads… and more beads…and more beads.

Photo Gallery
Over 200,000 visitors turned out for this year's Mardi Gras, almost six months to the day after the city was devastated by Katrina – that's down from 1 million people last year.

"New Orleans is kind of your home. What was it like seeing what was going on here?" Maria asked Britney.

"Well, we didn't really know the extent of it because they had a warning for like two days, and then all of a sudden, I didn't hear from my mom for like a week," Spears explained.

Brit's mom, Lynn, was 70 miles away from New Orleans in their hometown of Kentwood.

"All the phone services were down and you couldn’t get in touch with anybody and it was just kind of weird not being able to talk to your family," Britney continued.

And what was her reaction when she finally came down to New Orleans and started to see the destruction first-hand?

"Words can't do it justice," she said. "I would see people on television saying 'You have to come here. You have to see it,' and until I actually came here and actually talked to these kids saying it was a nightmare and they were waiting to wake up from this dream… it's heartbreaking. It really is heartbreaking."

So the pop star teamed up with "Good Morning America" to give a group of New Orleans teens the surprise of their lives – a day of shopping with Britney.

"It was awesome. I will never forget it," said 14-year-old Lindsay Hernandez, a student of St. Catherine of Siena School, who lived with 21 relatives and friends after her home was destroyed.

Britney took the girls shopping and to dine at one of Cajun chef Emeril Lagasse's restaurants for some Southern comfort food, including fried chicken and red beans and rice.

"They were so excited they got to go shopping because they said they lost all their clothes. You don't really realize that their homes are completely taken away and they were just so happy and laughing all day today. I just thought it was so sweet.," Britney said. "It was an honor to be here with all of them."

On a lighter subject, Britney also talked about her "Will & Grace" guest appearance and said, "the cast is absolutely hilarious and they were so welcoming...I've loved that show forever and I've seen people go on the show, so when they asked me it was an honor."

She revealed Sean Hayes as her favorite cast member saying that he is "hilarious."

"Everything he does and says ...It's just so funny...I like him. He's very cute." When asked about doing additional episodes with the show, Spears said, "I don't know. It would be cool, but we'll see."

Britney also added some tips that have been helping her drop her baby weight.

"I do yoga sometimes. It's hard to get into, but I do it like three days a week...for the most part I eat ok and I take naps. I kind of take care of myself," she said.

ummm...remind me to not do yoga to lose weight if it works this well.
