New York, NY (AHN) - Following a collapse onstage at a show in Sweden three weeks ago, Liza Minnelli is back. Allen Arrow, Minnelli's lawyer, told fans Wednesday that the 61-year-old entertainer and performer is making preparations for her next gig, and will return to the stage as soon as possible. Arrow has said there is nothing to worry about, but he avoided giving details on Minnelli's health scare.
Arrow added that Minnelli will return to rehearsals before the start of next week, and is expected to restart her touring schedule Jan. 12 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Liza Minnelli, the renowned singer, was performing at a Christmas show Dec. 12 in Goteborg, Sweden when she collapsed walking offstage. After consulting Swedish doctors, Minnelli left for the United States the next day.
Arrow said, "She was that sick. You wonder why she had the courage to get on the stage when she shouldn't have."
Minnelli, the daughter of Judy Garland, won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in the 1972 film "Cabaret." She won an Emmy for the 1972 TV special "Liza with a Z," and Tony Awards in 1974 and 1978.
