In a recent interview conducted by Robbie Daw for Towleroad (link to the interview below), Darren Hayes speaks about recent allegations (read: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6958172.stm)made against him. Here's a transcript of that part:
Robbie Daw: Let me you ask this, I know you recently had some allegations made against you and I know that that's not resolved yet and you've been advised to not talk about that -
Darren Hayes: Well, it's not that I've been advised. It's just that legally I'm not allowed but I'm happy to, you know, I'm happy to tell you. I mean, obviously, it's ridiculous, of course it's not true. But you know, there's a legal system, I mean, we live in a society that, you know, has laws that I absolutely respect and support. I was accused of doing something I did not do, and I was questioned, I was not charged, but the reality is I couldn't even think, let alone utter, a racist remark and that was what I accused, I was accused of racially insulting someone which is preposterous. But there's an investigation and I totally support that, the police have been beautiful, they have been wonderful. Basically, I've given evidence and that'll be investigated and believe me, when I can speak about it, I won't shut up.
Darren: Yeah, it's a part of... it's the society we live in, people are entitled to make an accusation and you are then forced to, uh, prove otherwise. Weird but that's the reality of what's happening.
