Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has slammed a school friend who sexually assaulted an underage girl at the actor's 18th birthday party.
Joshua Lodge, 19, was thrown out of the boozy bash by Rupert's dad after he was caught with the young girl. Lodge walked free from court yesterday after accepting a caution and being placed on the sex offender register for two years.
Rupert, who plays Ron Weasley, fumed: "I am totally appalled and disgusted by the actions of Mr Joshua Lodge. I am 100 per cent behind the victim and indeed all victims affected by this type of crime."
And one party-goer revealed that even before Lodge was caught with the girl, he had caused mayhem by crashing a golf buggy into a car.
The source, who was one of the 120 guests, said: "It was a really plush party with a marquee.
"Josh and a few others started to race cars around. But he then got even more carried away and 'borrowed' the Grints' golf buggy and crashed into a moving car. The car's owner was keen to track Josh down for a few words.
"Josh disappeared. About an hour later he was caught with the girl by the side of the house.
"Rupert's dad threw him out. When the police arrived, he stood at the gates asking to be let back in because he had nowhere to stay.
"Rupert and Josh used to be thick as thieves - but since the party, Rupert has made it clear he doesn't want anything to do with him."
Lodge, of Cheshunt, Herts, denied sexual activity with a child at the party in Watton at Stone, Herts, last September. Both were drunk.
Judge Marie Catterson recorded a not guilty verdict at St Albans crown court yesterday - which means the teenager will not face criminal proceedings.
Lodge smiled with relief as he left the dock before hugging his mum outside. His family said the punishment was appropriate "given the circumstances".
And thanks to the ~mysterious person who messages me about this.
Although I'm all about DanRad, if I could, I'd pic-spam you all with Rupert's face. But his eyes still freak me out a little bit. GO RUPERT GO. He seems cool.
