Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

Oh shit, I'd love that. I saw The Pillowman on Broadway when I was a teenager and it's really stuck with me.

This one is rough bc I love the actors involved but generally cannot stand Martin McDonagh's work. The trailer isn't bad, honestly, so I will probably end up watching, but I am prepared to be disappointed!

I loved In Bruges back in the day but watched it and Three Billboard’s again recently (which I remembered having issues with originally) after a recent ONtD film post.

I adore black humour and movies where everyone is kind of comically awful and while parts of both films are great and the performances are absolutely excellent, there are bits which are just…lowest common denominator awful. Like the bits about little people in both films were so offensive and unfunny — I’d completely blocked them out. And the ‘racist with a heart of gold’ crap in 3Bs.

So I’m hoping he’s learnt a bit over the years because I think Gleeson and Colin are excellent together but don’t know if I can stomach being that disappointed in a movie again.

As someone who was shitty and completely stopped talking to a friend just because I realized I'm always bored around them, I feel I must see this.

Not proud of how I handled that, but I guess it was mutual because I never heard from her again, either. LOL
