I died when charlotte was like “you’re driving me fucking crazy” in front of the couple she wants to impress, and then also when those two were throwing up after their date lol
The puke part was really funny tbh
the puking was so oddly endearing lol
They way they’re doing Steve is…whew, they’re really painting him like this useless old man who can’t hear or function and it’s not cute.
Tired of Che and how they’re written.
Charlotte for me is the best thing about this revival tbh, cause Carrie is just there.
steve is 53 going on 553
Seriously!! Unless they’re going on the route of him having some sort of early dementia like his mom?

Steve was always kind of a loser tho, I think people cut him slack bc he's not an asshole. He had this man child energy we're supposed to find endearing bc he's omg so nice but frankly, he was just another kid Miranda had to take care of at some point (which represents so many men). The episode where he begs Miranda for a kid and they end up adopting a dog that totally disrupts Miranda's routine is infuriating.

I might be biased tho bc I've never been Team Steve, ever lol

I guess I’m the only one that sees Steve as a realistic portrayal of someone who gets too comfortable in a relationship and “lets themselves go” in certain ways.

Che is such an awful character though so I think that is making Steve’s characterization seem ott for people.
They put the hearing part into the story because David Eigenberg is suffering from hearing loss in real life.

But, I agree. I love Steve. I’m forever mad they had him cheat on Miranda in the movies and I’m bitter they treating his character like this on the show.
Che is the worst character on tv
i was also planning on writing #justiceforsteve before i even saw your note, OP

lol at Che being like "i'm not a homewrecker" as if they didn't meet Miranda when she was with her husband and son
Yeah, but for all Che knew Miranda had an open marriage or something. Che choosing to back the fuck up now that they see how Miranda clearly needs to sort her shit out is a pretty decent choice IMO.
I've been watching the revival for nostalgia purposes and it's okay, it's entertaining but is even more superficial than the original lol. Carrie doesn't even seem that upset about Big, other than bringing up death in every sentence. She was more devastated by him leaving her at the altar in the first movie. I'm curious how the conversation between Steve and Miranda will go, but I just miss Samantha. I would watch a second season if she came back, but I feel like it's already running out of steam tbh
I don't have much to contribute other than I saw this and it made me laugh for a good 3 minutes.

The tweet that said "CDC stands for Che Diaz's Cannabis" made me laugh out loud.
I find it so bizarre that anyone has yet to bring up Steve’s cheating and how devastated/pissed Miranda was???! Like, not even a throwaway line? That was her whole storyline in the first movie lmao
i feel like they wrapped that up so tidily as "it's ALL YOUR FUCKING FAULT for not putting out, miranda!" lol it was the worst
That storyline still makes me mad. Big leaves Carrie at the altar, which is the least surprising thing ever, and everybody drops everything to go to Mexico with Carrie to spoon feed her yogurt. Steve cheats on Miranda and they all shrug and say you should have fucked him more.

Oh absolutely, the reactions were a mess. I would just think that at least Miranda would feel a modicum of guilt knowing what she went through lol
I know "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" is the title of a song, but it just makes me think of the time Xander put a love spell on the entire female population of Sunnydale.
came here to say this
That’s that what it reminded me of! I thought it sounded familiar lol

i don't blame che for not wanting to mess with miranda when she hasn't even figured out her shit with steve but i think it's pretty clear che just isn't that into her anyway. i mean, they let a dm from her sit for THREE MONTHS and their explanation was "i can't help it that i'm so popular." miranda is going to blow up her life with steve for che and che's going to just ghost her. and she honestly deserves it. i mean, good for her if she comes out and leaves her dead marriage to explore her sexuality in general, but FOR CHE? i just hate how they've massacred steve and pretty much every other character anyway, i don't know why i'm even bothering complaining about one plot point lol.
This show is SO bad. Why are they acting like these people are 80 years old??
they just need an easy way to ditch steve from miranda's life
This is so true. Sarah Jessica Parker is the same age as Robert Downey Jr., who would totally be allowed to continue playing Iron Man if he wanted to. Meanwhile, they are treating these women like senior citizens.
It's interesting to compare they way they are written vs. say the Golden Girls who were the same age and was so revolutionary in treating women in their 50s as vital and active.
Sarah Jessica Parker looked stunning this entire episode. I loved both her dresses. Also they did standford’s character dirty and they need to rectify it
Also are they using sarita chaudhury to become a potential replacement for sam?
absolutely
Didn't Stanford's actor die in the middle of filming? Not much they can do
She did, I kept thinking she and Robin Wright could totally play sisters.

Why? Stanford was always kind of an asshole, I thought his outcome was pretty in line with the character.

The only one done dirty is Sam bc there's just no fucking way Samantha would drop Carrie as a friend over a job. When Carrie said she thought she was more than an atm machine to Sam I wanted to slap her, that storyline makes no sense.

I am NOT here for Miranda's exploration of sexuality at the expense of being deceitful to Steve. She is being unfaithful to him and went insane when he did the same thing to her.

It's kind of depressing that the show can't even write one scene where she talks to Steve about this, instead we had to watch that awkward finger fumble in their kitchen.

Also, can Che have a personality outside of the fact they smoke weed? The "Miranda, I've done a ton of weed" line was so cringe.

That's what is pissing me off about this whole thing. Miranda is single-handedly ending the marriage without even talking to Steve about what she's been feeling or going through. After all those years or marriage and raising a child together you'd think she'd go about this more respectfully? When Steve was asking her if he was doing it right during that kitchen scene I was just like 🥺
I don't even watch this show, but everything I'm hearing is kinda ruining my love for Sara Ramirez. 😫 Which is sad.
it's not Sara's fault the character is just so bad there's no saving it no matter who would play Che

lol fair enough! It's almost as if MPK hasn't learned anything and still writes characters as tokens/broad stereotypes and not real people.
I'm one of the few people who actually likes Che lol Yes, they can get embarrassing but frankly, Sara is SO charismatic they totally sell the character. Also, I'm always here for someone who knows how get women off.

Sara's great, it's the character she's plays who's horrendously written. She and the guy who plays Anthony are the best actors of the show; they're so natural compared to everyone else.
It’s really awkward that this show thinks Che is serving something they are very much not serving.
this show is pretty stupid but i'm enjoying it for what it is.

the whole fight between Charlotte and Harry was so weird. It's like the writers just learned about "manspaining" and the concept of women always apologizing but had no idea what it means so they had her just be rude to her husband and we are all supposed to go "yassss kween put him in his place"

the vomit scene was...a lot

I'm still trying to figure out what's the point of all the other side women. is it to show us the core 3 have made friends outside the og clique? is there potential spinoff talk? like none of them are filling the giant hole left by Samantha cause each character basically mirrors the person they are friends with.
the mansplaining comment and the demi quote made me feel like someone was shouting "HELLO FELLOW KIDS" at me.
i honestly thought i had hallucinated charlotte referencing demi lmao

the mansplaining fight was so weird because it didn't even lead to anything about mansplaining. it was just purely so charlotte would be embarrassed in front of her friend, and then her friend would also have a fight with her husband in front of charlotte?

MPK mansplaining "mainsplaining" (and getting it wrong) is peak mansplaining, tbqh.

That was such a weird hill for Charlotte to die on. Are we suppose to be on her side? She was so damn rude to Harry for absolutely no reason. Yes, have Harry call her out, but the show completely misses the mark when it make it an issue "they're that couple". I'm doing a rewatch now and this is the something the show does a lot, especially with Carrie.
