The GRAMMY-nominated members of BTS returned to The Late Late Show with James Corden stage Tuesday night for the first time in two years.
The interview also marked the group's first interaction with the host since he scorned their fanbase (ARMY) during a September monologue, stating that BTS' appearance at the 76th United Nations General Assembly "marked the first time that 15 year old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary General António Guterres."
BTS leader RM wasted no time bringing up the incident, asking Corden if he was alright after getting "in some hot water with ARMY." Visibly embarrassed, Corden claimed that the jokes were not intended to offend and that he felt the backlash, which included wishes for him to die, was "intense."
Then things got awkward. After RM told Corden the group "appreciated [his] apology," the host asked member Jimin if he was still "Papa Mochi" while holding the 26-year-old's hand. Find out the answer, and watch an extended version of the televised interview, above.
