Over the weekend, union members of The International Alliance of Stage and Theatrical Employees voted for the first time in its union history to authorize a strike, and the results are in:
98% of those who voted are in support of a strike. 90% of all union members voted.
Union president Matthew Loeb now has the authority to send 60,000+ workers to the picket lines, but wants talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to resume before doing so.
There is currently no timetable for when talks might resume, or when the strike is officially a go.
