The New York Film Festival kicked off today with Joel Coen's The Tragedy of Macbeth with Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand.
Critics have universally praised the cast, with The Hollywood Reporter specifically stating Denzel and Frances give career-best work. Cinematography and production design are another highlight, as the film is in black and white with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The film is currently sitting at a impressive 89 on Metacritic. It opens in theaters on Christmas Day before debuting on Apple TV+ on January 14.
