Disney confirmed during their investor call today that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' release plan is staying as is. The film will not be delayed or have a hybrid release. It drops in theaters on September 3 before going to Disney+ 45 days later.
It was further stated that they expected the theater environment to be healthier by now, but that with new distribution agreements in place and the fact that the film drops in 3 weeks, it wouldn't be possible to make a major last-minute change.
Disney also mentions that the 45-day window is an "interesting experiment" because it will help inform them on how to go forward with their titles.
