Legendary R&B Producer Chucky Thompson Has Passed Away

His name may not be familiar to you, but you definitely heard some of the Bad Boy producer's contributions. One of his earlier notable accomplishments was producing Mary J. Blige's debut album What's the 411? at just 24, earning him a Grammy nomination. He passed away due to complications due to COVID-19 in Los Angeles.

Here's just a brief list of some of his other contributions.

Craig Mack: Flava In Ya Ear (Bad Boy Remix- Easy Mo Bee)
The Notorious B.I.G.: Big Poppa from Ready To Die
TLC: If I Was Your Girlfriend from CrazySexyCool
Faith Evans: Ain't Nobody and All This Love from Faith
Mary J. Blige: You Bring Me Joy from My Life
Pebbles: You from Straight From My Heart
Total: Someone Like You from Total
Tevin Campbell: I'll Be There from Back To The World
New Edition: Try Again from Home Again
Frankie: Think Of You from My Heart Belongs To You
Faith Evans: My First Love from Keep The Faith
The Notorious B.I.G.: Dead Wrong

RIP. I hope his friends and loved ones know just how much joy his creativity gave us, especially with everything going on, that bit of music nostalgia has been a little sense of escape for us.
