With an overall gross of $64.5 million, films haven't fared this poorly in 2 months.
The Suicide Squad took the top spot in its debut, grossing a less-than-expected $26.5 million. Warners has yet to release HBO Max numbers. Audiences gave the film a B+ on Cinemascore.
Jungle Cruise took 2nd with $15.7 million, dropping 55% from its opening. Old ($4.14 mill), Black Widow ($4 mill), and Stillwater ($2.8 mill) rounded out the top 5.
Even with Delta, quite a large number of films is dropping next weekend: Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy, The Aretha biopic Respect, horror Don't Breathe 2, Sundance fan Coda (also on Apple TV+), Beckett with John David Washington on Netflix, and John Boyega's Naked Singularity on VOD.
