The Suicide Squad opened to $26.5 million domestic/$72.2 million worldwide, which is not really good.
but why? 5/10 possible reasons:
1. Covid (duh)
A Quiet Place 2 and FF9 came out at the perfect sweet spot between opening again and the delta surge, everything coming out now is going to struggle
3. Is it a sequel, a reboot, a spin-off or something else?
Just adding a The to the title doesn't help with the confusion
4. Audiences didn’t like or didn’t care about Suicide Squad.
Did anyone really care about the first one?
7. $185 million is an absurd amount to spend on an R-rated movie.
9. Stop making sequels to Will Smith movies without Will Smith.
they all flop (Men in Black International/Independence Day: Resurgence)
