In a new interview with Glamour, Jessie J spoke about the success of "Bang Bang," her GRAMMY-nominated collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and told her version of how the track came together.
"[It] was a song that already existed," the singer-songwriter told the magazine. "Max Martin wrote 'Bang Bang,' and Ariana had been played it, I'd been played it, and we both loved it... and then Nicki was played it in the studio and was like, 'I've got to jump on this.' We didn't go to her and ask; she wanted to do it."
Tonight, however, Minaj took to Twitter to refute J's version of events.
"I didn't hear the song and ask to get on it," Minaj wrote. "The label asked me to get on it and paid me. How would I have heard the song? What am I, the damn song monitor? Snooping around for songs, chile?"
J has yet to respond.
