I cannot tell if there is one or five white guys with brown hair, they are so interchangeable
Lol, I think there are only 2 brown haired guys in the trailer, and one of them has curly hair
There’s like ten ok
Shit, fuck... I'm gunna watch it. Shit.
I felt that way when Kristen's voice came on, ugh
I will only accept the Gossip Girl of this reboot to be revealed as Dan Humphrey, now in his mid-thirties.
Imma manifest this
Penn doesn’t take himself too seriously I bet he’d be down for a cameo
I will join ur prayer circle.

I could even just do with a background shot of him open palming his laptop keyboard and laughing to himself, for old time's sake.
He hates GG and trashed the ending so I don't think he would.
He doesn’t, but he would never lmao

Everything about the show confuses me now with Dan as GG

Penn better have cameo it would be the only good thing about this.
it was my original suspicion that some long lost Humphrey is Gossip Girl this time around
is he a member of ONTD?
Are you telling me he wasn’t one of the several matching white boys I just saw?

This feels a little like they are trying to imitate Elite, but I guess Elite is kind of a murder mystery Gossip Girl. Also I hated it when the characters reference Gossip Girl in the original series and I hate it now. I feel like it's more fun when Gossip Girl is more of a narrator than a character.
yeah but Gossip Girl is what keeps nearly every storyline going in the original- they're obsessed with her (.. him) and all the secrets being spilled.
omg your eda icon!!!
This looks like crap, the only good thing about it is that it's more diverse than the original. I bet they'll add some throwaway class consciousness story arc in there somewhere and then forget about it 3 episodes later.
nobody moved
wait....this looks good
that blonde chick is being typecast into bitchy teenager roles.
Gossip Girl as an Instagram account is so obvious yet boring. What in the DeuxMoi hell
right? we came all this way for GG to be a DM? let's get a show about ONTD then - a timeless platform
About secret candle clubs and alt websites.
*Kristen Bell voice* Hey jackals!
true also wouldnt insta just block the account once it gets reported however many times?

they shouldve used livejournal, who the hell polices this place hahaha

it looks tragic and the whites aren't cute
The editing and cinematography look good because of the HBO coins but the acting looks basic AF. Im curious if any stars will arise from this. Idk. GG was so iconic for its time but do we really need another show glamorizing the elites in this economy??!!!
i've watched this interesting analysis of the original show a couple of month ago where the person argued that the first season of gg was more of a satire of elite life but then the 2008 banking crisis hit and they pivoted to just straight up glamorizing high society. i think it could be interesting to see if this show even tries to satirize that lifestyle or how people would react (in our current economy) to a glamorized depiction of rich people.

lol im sorry but gg was in no way ever a satire, that show always took itself seriously
I don’t think I’d call the first season a satire, but I def see your (and the analysis writer’s) point here. It was a different show in S1 (especially before the writers’ strike) that was less concerned with glamorizing the rich and the reprehensible actions of the rich characters. In short, it was still grounded and had heart.
