ONTD Original: 5 characters who are annoying and the Worst

We all have those characters who we just hate. Some for no real reason and some cause they are genuinely the worst. These are mine.

sam.jpg

Sam Winchester-Supernatual.
no real reason tbh Ive just never liked him. jareds off screen antics certainly didnt help. the finale only made it worse.

more annoying charactersCollapse )

source: me and my tv viewing, google for the pics

Blaine wasn't the reason Glee went off the rails but he's DEFINITELY the best personification of why it did - caving to fan pressure at every turn, tons of pandering and jumping through illogical hoops & decisions to make things happen as quickly as possible in turn making everything messy.

Like, he was MUCH better served as just a friend and even IF Kurt was to end up with him he shouldn't have ONLY had one real boyfriend. Kurt should've dated around, as should've blaine, and figured who he individually was. There could've been something simmering for years and both of them at different times thinking/feeling 'this isn't the right time, I don't want to leap into this with my good friend pre-maturely' before EVENTUALLY in the final episode or season having them make that transition.
Kurt did date around after Blaine cheated on him and he dumped him.
no I mean, actual relationships that mattered vs. just dating

As a Glee fan through s1-2 and someone who liked Blaine/Kurt I think they messed up when they made Blaine younger even though he was kind of Kurt’s mentor. And then they tried to make him ‘gayer’ by having him dress really preppy. Like Kurt already had the fashion thing, Blaine could have dressed ‘normal’.

But yeah having a couple get together so early (and I will admit I was super happy about it since it was the first non hetero pairing I liked that became canon while I was actively watching a show) is always hard when a show runs long. Then you have to add some kind of stupid cheating drama to keep it interesting. It can be done but Ryan Murphy was not up for it.

The reason I will never rewatch Glee even though I really liked the whole Klaine ‘slowburn’ (what passes for it on Glee) is because of all the tragedy surrounding the actors though.
They were right to give Kurt a boyfriend so his storyline wasn't just tragic fem gay in a small town, but they really gave Blaine nothing of his own beyond Kurt for the longest and it also spawned like one of the worst shipping fandoms.

The entire Gilmore Girls cast, with few exceptions whose names I don't remember.
I think only Lane was redeemable and they screwed her over hard.
It's not just the fact that she got pregnant with twins on her first time having sex, but also the scene of her telling Rory sth like "come on what's the big secret, why does everyone pretend sex is enjoyable?" Was truly sad as fuck.
yes, omg! they all had their redeeming moments (lorelai's and rory's bond as my personal anchor), but overall... they were A LOT. (I'm rewatching the series)
Chevy Chase and Ken Jeong on community are the worst

Also everyone on the office that isn’t Mindy Kaling
+1 to chevy chase. he was such a dick irl and in the show. i didn't mind ken jeong at first, but i think somewhere in s3 i stopped enjoying his antics.
Ugh yes, I hated Chevy. I loved Dean tho. Ken was whatever.
I hate Kevin so much on The Office in particular. He's so fucking creepy
The actor who played him was on a podcast talking about how he pushed for his character to have a romance with Erin but the producers just didn’t go for it and I was like thank GOD wtf?
Straight men love him, so naturally he's the worst.
Ugh yes, so many characters on the office are terrible, and Kelly was supposed to be annoying but I didn't mind her at all.
I like how the cast of Community barely veiled their disgust towards Chevy. A genuinely horrible person.

Ken Jeong is an odd one for me because he's always extremely irritating as an actor, but he seems such a sweet, genuine guy irl which means I'll always have a soft spot for him.

Ken was funny as their teacher but they took him too far and he overstayed his welcome. I wish they had gotten rid of Chevy sooner.

Chang as the security guard was so obnoxious.
I wonder how many fans of The Office realize that if they had a boss like Michael Scott, they would probably quit

I feel like Chevy Chase may be one of the reigning kings of The Worst Ever, and since he can only play himself, that means every character he plays is also The Worst Ever.
ugh... debbie. i loved her in the beginning. i didn't hate her during her teen pregnancy plot as much as rolled my eyes because it's shameless, but imo it did make sense for her to purposely have a baby because of the neglect and lack of self-love she faced. then the writers made her absolutely idiotic, but they did that to everyone. in shameless characters aren't allowed to grow! they must regress.

also: i've started watching scrubs, never seen it before, and elliot is the worst for me.
mte. debbie's character arc (up until she had her bb because i stopped watching after that) made sense but they just ruined it like they did the writing for every other character on the show

and elliot is hella annoying but thankfully the show portrays her as such
basically once sheila left it was downhill from there.

re: elliot - OH okay. i am only beginning season two and i can't handle her neuroticism, but i think it's because she reminds me of too many white folks i've known who think it's quirky and endearing when they're just dicks.

I get the story they were TRYING to tell with Debbie, the little girl who is so used to responsibility as a child, she gets pregnant young and kinda ruins her ability to escape it and get more of herself but, man, they fucked up the execution. Debbie went too hard, too fast in the other direction. A truer story would have been maybe her struggling to work full time at a dead end job while going to community college, not becoming a stalker bisexual welder out of absolutely nowhere.

Haha I've been going through the shameless tag today cuz I just finished after starting the series a few weeks ago omg so excited for you for scrubs!!
damn i've been in the mood for a nip/tuck rewatch. i remember some big storyline got spoiled by their website the day it aired too
Yep, the identity of [Spoiler (click to open)]the Carver(s). They posted the picture of Quentin and Kit as The Carver, then hurriedly tried to make similar photos of the rest of the cast to try to make it seem like it wasn't a mistake..
I remember loving season 1 and then it was just the wildest Rollercoaster into the ground I'd ever witnessed at that time. Like a train wreck I couldn't look away from, but was also on.
Sam Winchester is fine.
Also, i wood bttm.
I absolutely despised Ted Mosby. Selfish prick.

I also hate Leonard from Big Bang theory. He was just creepy and annoying.

Everyone on Vampire Diaries. The smug faces made me wanna hurl.

Also I hated Lily Bass/wooden whatever he last name was. Truly awful person and horrid parent and just a trash can of a being. Why the show made it out anyone cares about her ridiculous storylines is beyond me.
Both Blair and Serena's parents were terrible people agh.
I feel like atleast Blair's mom improved. Lily just became more deranged as the show went on. Why Rufus would look twice at her is beyond me.

Sheldon has to be one of the worst cases of a breakout character having his ~quirks exaggerated like 500% over the course of the series.

every character on gossip girl was horrible
the only ones i'd say weren't were dorota and nate (who basically didn't do anything the entire show lol)
lowkey i'm starting to hate teddy on bob's burgers. he's very much a less is more character for me and yet there he is, almost in every episode now smh
how are the later seasons? I haven't watched it in a fair while
honestly there are more meh eps now than good ones, you can tell most of their creative energy is going towards the movie.
seconding arellaj, the writing for the show has dipped a lot imo. they need to wrap the damn movie up already
yeah they use him too much. i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaated him in the ep where he works on his side business fixing phone screens in the restaurant, he was sf annoying

I used to think Teddy was the sweetest thing, but then they turned him into a borderline stalker who wants to wear Bob as a skin suit.

I really hate it because he used to be this endearing, lonely man who bore the scars of an emotionally abusive marriage, and now he's just this psycho trying to infiltrate a family.

i just caught up with the last season and teddy has been starting to grate on me. especially when poor linda was in jail and teddy was withholding the 20 bucks like sis do you not know how much these people have caped for you and you're gunna do this?! (that whole ep made me mad tbh lmao)

numara

You are 1000% right. I only watch it sporadically but why is Teddy such a big part of the show now?

May 3 2021, 02:32:17 UTC 6 days ago Edited:  May 3 2021, 02:36:46 UTC

same tbh. also what the hell happened to mort? cause, you know, it used to be teddy & mort. and then one day mort was just gone. i feel like having 2 customers helped avoid the exact over-exaggeration of character that's happening with teddy.

edit: i normally hate when long-term shows introduce new characters but at this point i think they need a new re-occurring customer. maybe someone can move into the store next door that's always changing. i know it's so easy to screw up that process though so even saying this makes me nervous but it might be time

God Teddy is absolutely Too Much. Especially after (way too many) rewatches of the show, he just seems more and more unsafe and not someone I'd want near my family. Saying "I'll murder you and your mouthy wife" because Bob didn't want to give him burgers... that is terrifying.
Oh god yeah he’s so annoying
The writing on the show in general has gone downhill tbh. But yeah, Teddy has become borderline intolerable
I've decided he's a serial killer and it's much more enjoyable to watch that way
Ted from HIMYM pretends to be a "nice guy" but I cannot stand any scene with Barney.
peggy carter
yessssss same. it's so strong that i hate hayley too

Me jdjdjd

Can I ask why? Idc about her but she seems so universally loved by fans.
Bold but I’m 100% in agreement.
I had to dig deep for this but tbh

Serena Southerlyn from Law and Order.

I still quote "Is this because I'm a lesbian?" Like that line lives rent free in my head.
Got she was such a terrible actress. I don’t remember her being that bad on Angel.
Oh, people HATED her on Angel. I'm pretty sure she got written off the show because she was so universally unliked.
i remember when i first saw that scene i nearly fell out of my chair because it was so out of nowhere
Any time I see that actress in anything that line pops into my head, lmao.
I've tried to find a high enough quality picture of Serena Southerlyn solely so I could have a shirt made with her picture and that phrase in large letters. It was just SO funny and ridiculous.
lmaoooo that was SOO out of left field i’ll never understand it. up until then i didn’t have any strong opinions of her, i mean i liked her more than repub woe is me i can’t get work bc i’m conservative angie harmon... but serena sis. what r u doin

It's been over 15 years and it's still one of the most hysterical character departures I've ever seen

Vanessa on GG

Jeremy Jamm on Parks and Rec which I realize is sort of the point but UGH I wish he had taken up less time/space
Vanessa was so annoying lmao. Dan too.

Actually everyone in that show was an awful person, some of the best fashion I've seen on television though.
Ugh yeah I know Jamm is supposed to be annoying but in particular at Ben and Leslie’s wedding I couldn’t stand all that screen time!!
yeah like there's a way to do annoying but also have them be enjoyable...for example, i fucking LOVE whenever mona lisa and jean ralphio are on screen

Vanessa was so annoying! she could never mind her own damn business

madrigalpals

lol Vanessa was the worst. Constantly being shoehorned into stories where she had no place.

I hated Jamm too, there was far too much of him in that one season where Leslie first gets onto city council.
Obligatory Xander from Buffy, Willow was always awful as well. Cordelia too but we were supposed to hate her I guess.

Todd Chavez from Bojack Horseman. Incompetence isn't cute when you're that age but I'm probably just projecting my own insecurities onto him.
Legit went to the comments just to make sure Xander was here. I have grown to agree with the assessment of Willow because of this site. I don’t have a problem with Cordelia - what’s the issue there?
She was just written to be shallow, I guess? She did end up growing a lot though, idk it's been a while since I've seen the show.

friarsfire

They're the reason I never got into Buffy, lol. I liked Cordelia because I knew her from Angel first because I watched Angel first. Then I tried Buffy and got too much second-hand cringe from the humour. Btw I HATE names starting with x or z so that didn't help.
Owen (Grey's Anatomy) - He's a misogynistic asshole who has been a piece of shit to every woman he's dated, trying to force marriage and children on them. He choked Cristina. Amelia finally called him out on a lot of shit very recently but the character deserves to die.

Chuck (Gossip Girl) - a rapist, on screen and off, who literally sold Blair in exchange for a hotel. He also verbally and physically abused Blair.

Blaine and Kurt (Glee) - as OP said, no explanation needed on Blaine. As for Kurt, I'll let Santana say it for me (rip Naya)

Daaaamn she read him for filth. I agree. Kurt was always a self centred twat.
the fact that people still stan chair is beyond me
i despise chuck
if he were written purely as a villain it'd be different, but the way people romanticize him and his abusive, toxic relationship with blair i will NEVER support
"Someone who looks like they just removed their top row of dentures every time they smile" omggg
I never watched the later episodes of Shameless, but I always found Debbie easily the most annoying character. Which is distinct from being hatable, like Frank.
