Beloved Fashion Designer Alber Elbaz has died

Alber Elbaz, the designer best known for his spectacular rejuvenation of Lanvin from 2001 to 2015, died on Saturday at a Paris hospital. He was 59.

His death, due to Covid-19, comes after he launched the first runway show of his newest venture AZ Factory in January 2021. He took a five-year hiatus after his much-publicized split with Lanvin. His new line was based on "projects or stories" rather than collections, addressing a point of contention he had with the fashion landscape that demanded constant creativity and production from designers. This line was also unusually size-inclusive, going up to 4XL. His goal with this endeavor had been to make the dresses disappear, "so you see only the women." According to Vogue, he "always imbued his work with such joy and put the focus squarely on making individuals feel special."

My first post. RIP.
