“Space Jam” has “Clockwork Orange” cameo, but no Pepe Le Pew

While Pepe Le Pew was deemed too problematic for the new “Space Jam” movie, the Droogs from “A Clockwork Orange” are apparently fine. For those who aren’t familiar with the film, it involves a gang of young reprobates who go around raping women.

when the fuck is everyone going to get tired of -* R E M E M B E R I N G *- things?
Do kids nowadays know who the Looney Tunes are?
since when were kids movies for kids these days
they know of them but i dont think any of the current looney tunes media is targeted soley at kids the way tiny toon adventures and other ones were back in the late 90s early 2000s.
yeah, i don't care if this is for adults. i'm not gonna watch space jam to see a fucking droogs cameo. villains like mama fratelli are one thing but murderous, rapist characters based on actual rapists? FUCK OFF. especially after they removed pepe. apparently, his scene was going to be about him changing his ways or something? but lol lets put a droogs cameo in because i'm sure the adults will find that funny.

idk i just find tons of cameos like this lazy in general and usually makes me wish i was watching something else instead.
I really don't understand the decision of turning this into Ready Player 1.2.
this just makes me really glad i don't have the nostalgia a lot of people have for this movie. i never saw the original, i'm pretty sure none of my kids have ever seen it, so this one isn't even on my radar unless it's posted about on ontd

that said, people who liked a clockwork orange (the book, too, tbh) earn immediate distrust
There's a lot of room to like it as a classic, well-made good vs. evil story without endorsing the violence that's depicted.

If they're only background characters a good portion of the target audience was gonna miss anyway, there's no comparison to Pepe as he was suppossed to be a speaking character with a somewhat prominent role.
I think Pepe Le Pew was cut because the plot was cut. These characters shouldn't be in it, but he had a speaking role and a storyline.
did they actually cut pepe le pew as a character or did they just not ever plan to include him in the film and someone called it cancel culture
was pepe le pew cancelled? did i miss something?
Yeah the tides have turned, his harassment of that cat is now no longer found amusing by general public
I never thought anyone ever was. I always wanted the cat to get away
Were the droogs animated in a clockwork orange? I feel like I’m missing how they are related to space jam of yore/looney toons.

If they’re just from CO and weren’t animated and aren’t related to looney toons, truly why are they there at all?
yet yosemite sam is in there with a gun. make it make sense.
The legacy of A Clockwork Orange is so weird to me. I rented and watched it tons of times when I was having my teen cinephile moment like every Kubrick movie I could get my hands on. There hasn't been much of a cultural reckoning about the boys club that is post code classic films and filmmakers. Like why was is ok for Kubrick to be abusive to Shelley Duvall or make an aesthetically pleasing, poppy adaptation that romanticized a group of young rapists and criminals? And why would you put them in Space Jam??
the cameo makes no sense, kids won't know but this shouldn't be in a kid's movie, they shouldn't be anywhere, and i honestly don't get why this movie is some sort of cult classic.

I still laugh at them cancelling a toon character as if they couldn't give him something else to do. Yet Elmer is still shooting up looneys.
I knew these guys in hs who were obsessed with this movie. Wonder how they turned out
