Zack Snyder on failed Green Lantern cameo "I almost quit" + How Patty saved the Amazons + CW Promos

-When Patty Jenkins came aboard Wonder Woman she had to deal with already established characters (Wonder Woman) and fight back against storylines that were in motion for the first Wonder Woman film. One of those was the Amazons backstory.

-The original idea for the Amazons is that they'd be victims of rape before they ultimately escape to Themiscrya.

-Patty pushed back against this idea and according to Connie Neilson (Hippolyta) "And Patty just said, ‘Hm, no. No, no, we’re not gonna put that on those Amazons. We don’t want to start out seeing them as victims, and why would we? Let’s just get rid of that part and make sure that these are heroes in their own terms."

-When Snyder came back to the Snyderverse he wanted to include a John Stewart/Green Lantern cameo that he went ahead and added w/out stuio permission.

-Once the studio saw that he was going to include the character in the film they pushed back and Snyder attempted to give them an ultimatum of either allowing him to use John Stewart or him quitting the project.

-The studio didnt back down and since Snyder didnt want to get rid of a person of color he convinced the studio to allow him to use Martian Manhunter instead.

-In the Snyder JL, MM appears to Bruce Wayne at the end of the film warning him of Darkseid waging war against Earth, this would've been the scene where GL appears.

-Snyder also went on to reveal that he thought about using Barbara Gordon in JL3. She'd have taken over the mantle of "Batman" after Bruce dies and would pass it on to Bruce Kent, going on to become his mentor.
