A debate is raging on TikTok that is even more divisive than politics. In fact, it's about how you divide the hair on your head.

Gen Z'ers believe that center parts are where it's at. They think that your side part makes you look like an Old! Meanwhile, Millenials + Gen X + Gen Y are into side parts.

America is split... down the center and down the sides!

I often shave mine fan mohawk-wise or chelsea. My hair is naturally spiky without styling products and naturally bright without dye because I was born punk and I'm genetically a Skinhead too.

Not to insinuate that I'm an NLOG because plenty of other women are natural-born punk skinheads. I'm just saying, this is why I don't get caught up in Gen Y vs Gen Z poop-slinging matches.

We used to call center-parts buttheads, though, TBH.

Imagine having that much control of your hair. Wherever the coils fall after I take out the twists and fluffs is where they stay, through little work or action on my part .

Until like 2 years ago I didn't know about middle parts/side parts because I never payed attention to them in my life. Most of the white teens I see on tiktok that have a middle part look awful though. Mainly because they have so little hair on their head and the hair is thin. Like don't do that if that's the hair you got.

side part, but only slightly off-center. it's not even a beauty thing, my face just looks more intelligent with a side part, and making people think i'm intelligent is all i have going for me

i always aimed to have no discernible hair part but, to this day, my hair wants to do a zig-zaggy part. i got shattered bangs when it was still easy to go to the hair salon and did a middle part for them but now they’re grown out n my hair just goes flip/flop/floop

I already have a short forehead with a widow's peak, if I part my hair in the middle my forehead turns into a two-head. I'm not even kidding :/

I think the only reason there’s Gen Z vs millennials wars is because we’re the two groups most active on social media and millennials have become a stereotype that is far more prominent than Gen X ever was. I mean I was young but I don’t remember reading anything about Gen X online (And tbh there wasn’t much of an online space in terms of journalism anyway then). Like when millennials were Gen Z’s age none of these social media apps existed so we couldn’t compare with each other in this way anyway.

Millennial here. Always parted down the middle because I was too self conscious and didn't think I looked good any other way. Now with pcos my hair loss is too much for me to part it on either side.
