does anyone know if there was some sort of drama? like they clearly had no problem w/ going off and doing their own things while not working on daft punk projects for yearsss at a time so it feels odd that they would quite literally blow the whole joint up.
I doubt there was any drama
They still have a label together, I think they just stopped daft punk
okay good, I still would like to hear whatever other projects they may wanna work on together (film scores etc) even if it's not formally 'daft punk'
That video made me irrationally sad. Was there also a statement or was it just the video. Give me some hope it's weird promo.
Quel beau souvenir ! 😭😭😭
lmaaaaao daft punk really knocked out the man behind her without even playing a note

They gave us this wonderful gif too. 😂😂
I’m shocked, I wonder why :(
I was just telling my daughter about them on Saturday, how they'd been together so long and how we'd never seen their faces (Get Lucky was on and she asked about the band) :(
There's def pictures of them without their helmets, we even know their names lol.
Yeah, but my daughter is six and I was playing it up for her.

There's a lot of pictures of them
Maybe not in american media but the french public knows their faces
Alexa, play the Tron Legacy soundtrack

title or description
Yes, please! That score/soundtrack was absolute perfection.
They've been around longer than I've been alive, this sucks.

Dramatique~ af...I loved it. As surreal as them breaking up seems, what a way to go about it.

*Edit: Actually not breaking up, but retiring.
Daft Punk has broken up and I’ve been given my first Shinee album that I don’t like. What a Monday! It’s not even noon. 🙃
Hmm I wonder what the reason is?

I hope it’s just of creative drive rather personal issues?
+ R I P +

Noooooo I wanted to see them live so bad 😭
I can’t believe I willingly saw Justice and not them 🤧
Alive is so so good 😭

Justice's first album was so, so, so good. I was literally obsessed. Too bad about the rest.

I have a lot of feelings about this, I'm obviously gutted, I love their music and I was really hoping for a new album and tour like everyone else but also I'm not that surprised? RAM sounds a lot different from their early stuff and I was curious in the direction they were gonna take after it but maybe that was it for them artistically, cant really blame them if that's the case, better to retire before they become a joke, a lot of artists should take note 👀

One of my biggest regrets is not seeing Alive 2007 and I will never forgive myself for it.

Also I think that clip is from their movie Electroma, I wonder if they did that just to use it later on lol
nooooooooo 😭😭😭

Super bummed because they were such a big part of my childhood and teenage years. also anytime i hear celebs moan about being private i think of them.

I'm really hoping they're just creatively done rather than professionally because that gives me hope that down the line they may do something again if the spark comes back.
apparently they still have their label together and all so I think it's just them retiring DP
Sigh. It's still an end of an era for me.
