Per the Daily Telegraph, Australian site Sunday Confidential reports that Chris Hemsworth, 37, was recently transported to a private hospital on the Gold Coast from his home in Byron Bay after suffering an acute back injury.
Sources tell Sunday Confidential that the actor saw specialist doctors on the Gold Coast who provided cortisone injections into Hemsworth’s back to relieve severe pain and swelling. He was discharged after just a few hours and did not have to stay overnight.
A source close to the Hemsworth said that the reason the actor went to a Gold Coast hospital because the facilities in Byron Bay “were not adequate”.
“For what he needed, he had to go to the Gold Coast,” the source said. “It was a specialist pain problem.”
No word on if this will impact the Thor: Love & Thunder production.
