In a stage, film and television career that spanned the 1940s to the 2020s, Cloris Leachman won most of the highest honours available in her chosen profession. Despite winning an Academy Award for her supporting role in Peter Bogdanovich's The Last Picture Show (1971) and a notable role in Young Frankenstein, her most prominent work was generally on television -- from The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spinoff Phyllis to her 2000s appearances on Malcolm in the Middle as Malcolm's grandmother Ida -- and earned her a total of eight Emmys across several categories.
She will be missed.
