Demi Lovato is going back to her acting roots, having just signed on to NBC's upcoming single-camera comedy Hungry.
The new project from sitcom veteran Suzanne Martin (Will & Grace, Hot in Cleveland, Frasier) follows a group of friends who belong to a food issues group and help each other as they look for love, success and "that one thing in the refrigerator that will make it all better."
Lovato will co-executive produce, and should it air, will be her first regular TV role since Disney Channel's Sonny with a Chance (2009-2011).
