Over the weekend, Swiftie Olivia Rodrigo received some unexpected praise for her debut single, "drivers license," from her very own musical idol, Taylor Swift. The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star celebrated on Instagram that her new single ranked next to Taylor on iTunes’ top songs chart in the US. The “Delicate” singer responded, writing, “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud,” a line Mama Swift once used to describe her own daughter, Taylor.
Swiftie Rodrigo wrote back to Taylor saying, “Crying like a baby! Thank you for everything u do!!!!!”
Olivia then uploaded a video of herself lipsyncing to Taylor’s speech for her 2007 Horizon Award at the Country Music Awards where she says, “I can’t even believe this and this is definitely the highlight of my senior year.”
“drivers license” is currently expected to debut at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 next week. It’s currently the most streamed song worldwide on Spotify and Apple Music.
Olivia Rodrigo's "drivers license" is currently pacing for a #1 debut on next week's Hot 100.

The power of TikTok and a good messy Disney break up involving a love triangle.
Olivia’s co-star and ex-boyfriend, Joshua Bassett, is expected to drop his new single “Lie Lie Lie” on January 14th. Gotta capitalize off the interest on TikTok with the youths now before they move on, ya know. Justin Timberlake you are not.
