Wonder Woman 1984 opened at $16.7M from 2,151 locations during the Xmas weekend, scoring a record best since theaters opened during pandemic times. That's close to double what TENET ($9.3M) and Croods: A New Age ($9.7M) scored during their opening weekends.
The film was opened simultaneously on HBO Max and according to WarnerMedia, nearly half of the current HBO Max subscribers watch Wonder Woman 1984 opened day.
