Variety reports that Netflix has removed Dave Chappelle’s, “Chappelle’s Show”, from the site after Chappelle requested them to do so.
Chappelle posted a long Instagram video called “Unforgiven,” and he claims he “never got paid” by ViacomCBS after he left the show.
Part of his statement from the video:
“They (ViacomCBS) didn’t have to pay me because I signed the contract,” Chappelle said. “But is that right? I found out that these people were streaming my work and they never had to ask me or they never have to tell me. Perfectly legal ‘cause I signed the contract. But is that right? I didn’t think so either.”
He added that he was angry that Netflix began to steam the show and he called up Netflix and asked them to take it down.
Netflix did not respond to Variety’s request for comment.
