THR is reporting that Black Panther 2 will start production in July 2021 in Atlanta. It was set to begun production in March, but that was before the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman.
Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are expected to return for the new feature, with some saying Wright’s character Shuri may take on a more prominent role.
Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) is in talks to play one of the antagonists
Marvel and director Ryan Coogler have not revealed its plans on how it plans to proceed without Boseman.
Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are already filming and will wrap next year. Thor: Love and Thunder will start production in January in Australia, which per an insider will have “an Avengers 5 feel,” thanks to its ensemble. Ant-Man 3 will begin production in mid 2021 while James Gunn is returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will start shooting in late 2021. (The article doesn't mention it but Captain Marvel 2 is also set to start production some time next year with director Nia DaCosta.)
On the television side, She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany, and Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac, will begin production in March. Ms. Marvel recently begun production. Falcon & The Winter Soldier, and Loki are looking to wrap up production on their first season, both had to shutdown production midway because of COVID-19 earlier this year.
