-Superman & Lois is the newest darling project of TheCW, that wont be premiering until early next year and yet there is already drama behind the scenes, starting with the writers room.
-Nadria Tucker was one of the lead writers on the show (she also wrote for Krypton which was a prequel series to the general Superman mythos) and after raising concerns about the shows direction, her contract was not renewed.
-In her interview Nadria brings up that she and others were trying to diversify the world Superman & Lois live in. There were suggestions of diversifying Supermans adoptive parents Martha & Jon Kent, ensuring that more supporting characters were people of color, and even suggesting that the general people on the street were diverse. After some of these suggestions it was allegedly stated that it was harder to have a larger population of black people due to the show shooting in Vancouver.
-There were also alleged MeToo jokes within the script that Nadria and some of her peers were not a fan and attempted to remedy.
-It should be noted that the first season major villain will be played by a black actor and this was a driving force to ensure that the only black actor you see on screen is not evil.
