So, spoilers for the latest episode of Supernatural, in case you haven't seen it.
A quick recap for those of you who left us some time ago...
- Sam, Dean, Castiel and Jack (Lucifer's son that was adopted by the Winchesters) now have to defeat God who turned out to be evil. Yes, that one God you're thinking about.
- Castiel made a deal with The Empty (a void that existed before God and the Darkness) that to save Jack the void would take Castiel's life once he's truly happy.
- Death was trying to kill Castiel and Dean and that's when Castiel realized his true moment of happiness was being with Dean, he procedes to declare his feelings for him and says he loves him... and then the Empty takes him and Death. Here's the scene:

So, after almost 11 years of 'it's in your mind' the show finally made Destiel canon, and when you validate rabbid fans, you can expect them to speak their minds and it varies from 'Goddamn finally' to 'This is the most homophobic bury your gays coming out ever'.
