Kim Kardashian enlists Paris Hilton to promote Skims' velour line; they discuss the 2000s

-Kim says Paris taught her to do photoshoots with a mirror behind the photographer so she could see how she's posing
-They discuss the time they had matching gold and silver LV bags in Australia: They belonged to Kim and Kim wouldn't let Paris put anything in the bag, so Paris had to carry an empty bag around.
-Those bags are still in perfect kondition and used to promote this line
-Paris would carry tons of crumpled up dollar bills around and Kim taught her not to do that
-Kathy Hilton would call them "sugar and spice"

absolutely none of them
I'm legit trying to think of a good 2000's trend.
Pointy shoes? Nope. Low rise pants? Nope. Velvet tracksuits? Nope. Dresses/skirts with pants? Nope. Tiny ass eyebrows? Lol nope.
Lol same. I'm more into the 90's as far as a decade's aesthetic but even then, I draw inspiration, I wouldn't really wear exact outfits from back then.
My metabolism.
omg yes
agree
OMG!
who's that in your icon?

Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan
I miss Lindsay sm... I don't think she'd ever move back to the US tho sadly.
In some ways (capris) I say, bring it on. In other ways (low rise jeans), I say "get behind me, Satan!"

Also, just watched this the other day. Sums up the pros & cons of a 2000s fashion resurgence.
lol I've been meaning to watch this but I keep putting it off.
The full body shudder I had at hearing Von Dutch 🤢
I feel if 2000s come back, it won't be with the vengeance that 90s fashion did. A few trends here and there but no way will low-rise become the universal jean cut we all wear lol. Also crop tops are currently much more popular now than they were in the 00s and I don't see them going away anytime soon
Ia. I think the 90s worked because a lot of the stuff was flattering or comfortable/practical, so it worked on different body types. A lot of this stuff only works on thin people.

IA I think this 2000s thing is happening mostly from e girls on Instagram who didn’t truly live the era like early 90s babies, who are still young enough to be into internet culture like Instagram / Twitter / keeping tumblr alive so it does not die like their MySpace.

i would cry if low-rise jeans came back in a big way. lmfao. growing up as a teen when those were the only jeans you could find that weren't mom jeans was traumatizing!! they are not made for people with hips and ass

omg the jeans with the built in denim thong...dark-sided
I literally had this conversation with my daughter yesterday, right down to the 20-year cycle, haha. I think that cycle will start becoming less and less noticeable, though, as the 2000s start to blend style eras into fashion.
Nice vid but I feel like the 'mid 2010s' styles she mentioned in the pic at 0.55 are really just late 00s/early 2010s styles if you ever went to lookbook or chictopia or fashiontoast.

Falou o nome dela, já pagou o processo?

I liked the pocketless jeans. I used to wear them when they made a big splash back in 2002ish when I was in middle school

i used to just shove my hands in my back pockets when i got uncomfortable and started panicking ("ohgodwhatdoidowithmyHANDS"), which was basically all the time during that cursed era, so anytime i tried to wear pocketless jeans i was just constantly rubbing my own butt accidentally and then getting more anxious lmfaoooooo
i never smoked more cigarettes than during pocketless jeans. what else am i to do w these nervous hands??

This abomination. Delete this comment
Women’s clothes already lack legit pockets. Stop this madness.
Oh I just had a flashback of cropped cardigans.
I see a ton of these on ASOS lol
Oh I like cropped cardigans. the wear well with dresses
cropped cardigans are 90s, they've been back for a while
I love a nice cropped cardigan. One of my top searches on ebay 😂
Cropped cardigans are one thing, but will it reach the heights of a shrug or bolero? That's when you know you've hit the 2000s
God those things were shoved down our throats at catholic school. “Make sure you wear a sweater or shawl if you have a sleeveless dress!”

Omg I'll collapse if sequined boleros come back
h&m is also selling them now.
they're just as unflattering on me now as they were back then.
Paris is a shitty person, but she looks fantastic. Whatever work she's had done was done very well.
I feel like Paris is very much a product of her environment.
Hmmm....
I was thinking the same thing
She's obviously had work done but it's very good
She did/does drugs, is racist, and White. She clearly took pre-emptive measures because all that shit was gonna catch up to her otherwise.

I don't think she did as much drugs/drinking/partying as her fellow party girls did and was more of an enabler if I remember correctly.

the 2000's were trash.
NOT LOW RISE PANTS THAT’S FOR SURE
Lmao oh shit. Huh. Ain’t that something! Karma is a real B
the things i think about wearing during the 2000s for which i get weirdly nostalgic are: plain b&w checkered vans, one specific pair of dickies khakis i had that made my butt look very cute imo, and weird layering of various tops (long sleeve tee under a short sleeve tee, tank top under a short sleeve tee)

i also wore an insane amount of paul frank tees from, like, pacsun and a bunch of threadless shirts lmaooooooooooo. i honestly resisted skinny jeans for SO LONG and i really thought i would miss flared jeans, but now Fashion™ can pry skinny jeans out of my cold, dead hands. i also always thought these tracksuits were hideous rip
yeah I get nostalgic for the alt-ish emo scene stuff. a lot of it aged horribly, like the teased hair and racoon eye makeup, but I loved all the kitschy little accessories. I had a pair of Vans too lol
it’s coming back lol theres a few new scene queens on tik tok and their videos get super popular so it’s obviously a look a lot of teens are into
same!! i just had very casual emo/skatelyfe vibes. i also wore a lot of very chunky blue/green eyeliner with no other makeup like an absolute lunatic, like those really thick eye pencils you could buy at the drugstore
I definitely resisted skinny jeans for longer than I should have. also I'm kicking myself for not discovering leggings a lot earlier too - I hated any kind of cold weather because I hated wearing pants but they weren't my only option!

I always felt so conspicuous for even thinking about Vans back then. I finally got the black and white ones everyone has a few years ago.

The pants are cut so weird. I'd rather get "vintage" Baby Phat or Juicy instead of this cozy yeezy stuff.
Keep the boot cut jeans
no no no to low-rise anything. i carry my weight in my mid-section so that's a HUGE HELL NO
I bloat like no other so anything low rise is the devil
Same! And then then become trendy and you can’t find any other type of jeans.
