HBO Max has announced the lead cast for its upcoming comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Deadline reports that Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Renée Rapp and Alyah Chanelle Scott are set to star in the new series co-written by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble.
The comedy series is about four roommates at the prestigious New England Essex College.
Chalamet (The King Of Staten Island) will star as Kimberly, the high school valedictorian from a humble Arizona town. Kimberly is caring and ambitious, but she’s not ready for the Essex College social scene.
Kaur (The D Cut), plays Bela, a comedy obsessed New Jersey girl. Bela is described as “extremely sex-positive,” despite having very little sexual experience.
Rapp (Broadway’s Mean Girls), will star as Leighton, a fourth-generation legacy student at Essex. Leighton is more reserved from her roommates and she comes from one of the richest and secretly Republican families on New York City’s Upper East Side.
Scott (Book of Mormon), will star as Whitney. Whitney is described as “strong, self-assured with a dry sense of humor”. Whitney is the daughter of the most powerful Black senator in the country.
The Sex Lives of College Girls sees Kaling and Noble co-writing the first episode and executive produced by Howard Klein. The series will also be produced by Kaling.
