Chilean Gay Drama Picked Up for North America distribution.

Following a short run in cinemas in Chile after the pandemic, The Strong Ones recently was purchased for distribution rights in the US by Breaking Glass Pictures.

The Strong ones is a gay drama film from newcomer director Omar Zuñiga, it stars Samuel Gonzalez and Antonio Altamirano who portray a story about an architect who, before traveling to Canada for a scholarship, goes to his sister's in the south of Chile for one last goodbye, there he meets a local fisherman who makes him question his trip after they fall in love.

The film was first portrayed in a short film that won which won the Teddy award at the Berlin Film Festival, has had quite a successful run in the awards circuit including awards including the US Outfest Festival.

The film is gaining Oscar buzz to become the Chilean submission for Best Foreign Film, which was won a couple of years ago by A Fantastic Woman, a film exploring the grief of a transgender woman.
