Lenny Kravitz for "Sunday Morning"

-Lenny Kravitz speaks with "Sunday Morning" ahead of the release of his memoir "Let love rule"

-Kravitz speaks of his childhood as a bi-racial Jewish kid. His mother actress Roxie Roker introduced him to music with a song that he sings, that consisted of his name and address. His godmother is Cicely Tyson and he would sit on Duke Ellington's lap while he played the piano. When asked if this influenced his interest in music ,he says absolutely . He had no choice. it was via osmosis.

-Kravitz's struggled with his image as a young adult, changing his name to Romeo blue and wearing blue contacts. He says the process of going outside of himself led him back to himself and made him realize he was enough.

-Kravitz's was offered to perform a song that he was sure was going to be a hit. It was."Somebody's watching me" by Rockwell(son of Berry Gordy) was a worldwide hit and reached number 2 on the U.S. billboard chart in 1984, and is a Halloween staple. Kravitz met Lisa Bonet and says it was magical and that's where he found his true sound.
