Zendaya (above) won her first EGOT-level award Sunday night (Sept. 20, 2020)—a Primetime Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for HBO’s Euphoria. She has became the youngest second-ever Black woman in the category's history to win an Emmys at age 24.
Zendaya is credited as a performer on three of the 12 tracks on 'The Greatest Showman,' but apparently that's no longer enough to receive a Grammy.
But wait.... what happened? What have changed? Ain’t The Greatest Showman win a Grammy for best compilation soundtrack for visual media, like, bout 2 years ago though? Keep in mind that Zendaya had several tracks on the album. According to those Grammys rules, wouldn’t she have won for that, correct?
So 'The Greatest Showman' indeed won a 2018 Grammy in that category, and yes, Zendaya does have several tracks on the album... but alas no, she didn’t win a Grammy in the first place. Just only her co-star Hugh Jackman and four “compilation producers” (Alex Lacamoire, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Greg Wells) did. Ain’t this just make you going ummm HmmmmmT?
IF the good sis Zendaya had won a Grammy two years ago... she would now be halfway to EGOT status. That’s the done deal. Instead, she’s just a quarter of the way... so like.... why? Surely she is about to be on her way NOW just as we speak since she done has risen!
