Chuck E. Cheese asked a bankruptcy court to allow them to destroy 7 billion paper Prize Tickets that have built up in the company’s supply chain as a result of the pandemic. https://t.co/aLW3rfNWh4— Bloomberg Law (@BLaw) September 15, 2020
A no-longer powerful rat, Charles Entertainment Cheese will be shredding his currency in the darkest pits of bankrupcy.
Because many anamatronic atrocity restaraunts have not been open over the summer because of COVID-19, 7 billion paper prize tickets will be at the mercy of his claws. The cost to destroy them is cheaper than the cost to keep them.
The tickets (enough to fill 65 forty-foot cargo shipping containers) are used in the company’s arcades and can be redeemed for prizes.
The hearing is next week.
