In "Oh, cool." news, after the not so great movie adaptation and hte apparently great stage show, Rick Riordan is taking yet another of his 'gods in the modern day' middle grade novels to the screen. And this time, they're Egyptian.
The first of the three books in the series is The Red Pyramid, which was published in 2010. This was followed by The Throne of Fire and The Serpent’s Shadow. They're about - Ok, I read these 10 years ago, I remember there were two siblings, Carter and Sadie, who were mixed, and Carter was clearly black and Sadie was pale and red-haired and lived with her mother's parents in England, while Carter and his father travelled the world. So I do not expect whitewashing here.
Who knows if this may be too expensive to produce, or if Netflix will be willing to work with Riordan.
