Retired mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor was arrested for alleged attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure in Corsica today, according to multiple reports.
The arrest came as McGregor was preparing to travel to Monaco, and was made after a complaint was filed with local police on Thursday, September 10. McGregor, who was released from custody following an interview with police, has vigorously denied the accusations through a representative.
This is not McGregor's first run-in with the law. In March 2019, the New York Times reported that the 32-year-old was under investigation over an accusation of sexual assault in his native Ireland; that August, he pleaded guilty to and paid a fine for assaulting a Dublin pub patron.
