ONTD Original: Is Mariah Carey the Queen of Covers?

So, last night i ended in a Mariah Carey Ballad rabbit hole and realized that she is the Queen of Covers and that no one can OWN a song the way her beautiful voice does. There's a talent to that, every song that she has covered (to me) ends up being better than the original.

Here's the prove. I decided to remove the xmas songs cuz everybody makes xmas covers.

WARNING: THIS IS A VIDEO HEAVY POST

The first time i heard this song, i didn't even know it was a cover. Originally performed by Phil Collins you can tell Mimi is feeling this.

The orginal is by Def Leppard. Ms. Carey looks so good in this video and her voice is so heartbreaking.

I gotta say this is probably the only instance where i might like a bit more the orginal by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross.

The original is by the Jackson 5 but Mariah and Trey KILLED IT

Originally by Brend K Starr this is my favorite Mariah Cover, the song is beautiful and it suits her voice so well.

ICONIC. Badfinger sings the original.

The original is by Journey

Honorable mention to:

I Want To Know What Love Is, oginally by Foreigner.

Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, orginally by Indeep.

So, now that you have seen the prove. Do you Agree?

Is Mariah the Queen of Covers?

Yes
30(90.9%)
No
