Sources tell E! News exclusively that Carole Baskin, Chrishell Stause, Anne Heche, and AJ McLean are all in talks to compete for the mirrorball trophy this season, and are close to being confirmed. They will join previously announced The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe. The full celebrity line-up will be announced on September 2nd.
Sources also say that Dr. Anthony Fauci, coronavirus expert, was asked, but he declined to participate.
ABC announced last week that the 29th season will premiere on September 14th and will feature 15 "stars" dancing it out this season for the mirrorball, the most season season 10 in 2009, which had 16. The pros participating this season are: Artem Chigvintsev, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Brandon Armstrong, Cheryl Burke, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater, Daniella Karagach and Britt Stewart (the first black female pro on the show).
