The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have a reputation as the premier cheerleading squad in the NFL, but they are about to have a reputation as being assholes to women who voice opposing views. The squad allegedly cut four cheerleaders who voiced concerns about being forced to perform during quarantine for the sake of TV ratings. (The squad has its own reality show on CMT).
This sparked a backlash online, even among the fairly conservative fanbase of the squad. One cheerleader, a fan favorite named Brennan, was cut even though she survived COVID twice.
One of the cut cheerleaders implied that the leaders of the squad, Kelli Finglass and Charlotte Jones (daughter of owner Jerry Jones), decided to continue filming the show for the sake of ratings, even though it put the dancers' health in jeopardy.
