ONTD Original: 3 Great "Falling in Love" Montages

You know the drill. It's a romantic comedy! You need to show a progression of time but in a fun, snappy way. So let's do a montage!

** 13 Going on 30 (2004)

Jenna is a magazine editor, and she asks her childhood friend Matty to be the photographer for her new ideas to revamp the magazine. While staging the photos to Liz PHair's Why Can't I, they have fun in the autumn leaves and slow dance in a winter wonderland. While slowly falling in love, of course.

** Up (2009)

OK, this is a bit of a cheat since it's not TECHNICALLY a "falling in love" montage (it starts on their wedding day). But it does show them STAYING in love throughout their married life which, I think, is quite lovely. And you can't have a montage list without the opening of Up. You just can't.

** Valley Girl (1983)

A cute 80s movie with a mild Nicolas Cage as the leading man? Interesting. This falling in love montage between two opposite teens is elevated by the fantastic song I Melt With You. Todd in the Shadows did a great episode that goes into detail about the inclusion of this song.
