Amanda Seales is opening up about why she left the Real. Amanda joined the show in January 2020 and announced her departure in June.
In an interview on August 1 with The Neighborhood Talk 2, Seales said:
"I left The Real because it was breaking my spirit ... I was being asked to not talk about certain things that felt like a betrayal to my people.
And then on top of that, I didn't want to be somewhere that I felt like people weren't being honest with me and where people felt scared of me because of my Black woman-ess."

Seales discussed an experience on the show that involved the production staff. Seales created a new game, Smart, Funny, and Black, and was disappointed when a white female producer was assigned to her project.
Seales said that they had four Black producers in the show, three women and one male. Seales said that she felt that a Black producer would have been a better fit for the project because they would be more familiar with the Black community.
This caused an issue with the white producer. Seales alleges that the segment incident ended with the producer crying to another staff member claiming that she was verbally attacked by Seales. Seales said that she couldn’t stay in a place like that.
Seales added that she felt like her and her coworkers were not being respected and that there was no action taken against members of production staff.
