All the Presidents Men

A must-watch for both cinefiles and engaged voters. Robert Redford plays Bob Woodward and Dustin Hoffman plays Carl Bernstein in the film based on the book of the same name, that captured Nixon’s downfall and the role the Washington Post played in it. RT 93% Metacritic 80.

Interview with the Vampire

Where you can watch the pseudo family of Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst wreak havoc as vampires, or debate how Brad Pitt sulks and pouts while Tom Cruise acts crop circles around him, and see Kiki in her breakout role. City Slickers

In case you remember your parents watching this goofball treasure hunt film with Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern, Bruno Kirby, Jack Palance, Patricia Wettig, Helen Slater, and Noble Willingham, that prompted the resurgence of Jack Palance, who did one-armed pushups at the subsequent Oscars. RT 88% Metacritic 70.

My Best Friend’s Wedding

Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Cameron Diaz and Rupert Everett in this romantic comedy, back when Rupert Everett still looked like Rupert Everett. RT 73% Metacritic 50.

Rain Man

Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman play brothers in this -they don’t make regular films like this anymore-. Won for Best Picture and Best Actor (Hoffman) although Cruise had the harder role to play and did better at it than one-note Hoffman. A little non-pc in today’s terms re/Raymond’s condition. RT 89% Metacritic 65.
