Ellen DeGeneres addresses workplace allegations after WB Investigation

Wb released a statement after their investigation, “Though not all of the allegations were corroborated, we are disappointed that the primary findings of the investigation indicated some deficiencies related to the show’s day-to-day management,” the statement said. “We have identified several staffing changes, along with appropriate measures to address the issues that have been raised, and are taking the first steps to implement them. Warner Bros. and Ellen DeGeneres are all committed to ensuring a workplace based on respect and inclusion. We are confident this course of action will lead us to the right way forward for the show.”

Of course to save face Ellen apologizes saying, “As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t,” she wrote. “That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”

Although all the allegations were on Ellen and her toxic behavior, Executive Producer Ed Glavin was used as the scapegoat and fired.

wb was never gonna do anything to ellen. wonder if ellen called bestie dubya about not being liked in the work place.

What a lovely threat. As expected from a friend of GWB.
Oh good. So she's going to fire some red shirts, pretend she's not the problem, and call it a day.
Yep. Exec Producer Ed Glavin is looking like the one who'll fall on the sword. (He was named in a lot of the complaints, so he's not blameless, but Ellen is acting like she was in the dark to this toxic environment, instead of the ringleader).
bUt WHy cANT wE JUsT BE BeST frienDs wIth mURDEring WaR CRIMInals??
i literally felt the rage well up in me reading that and I don't even work for this pendeja! ALKSGJAGLDAKFGJANKGAGKJ
How very on brand, pointing the blame on employees dependant on her.
spare me.
<stares at chipped nails>
sooooo nowhere in this so-called apology is she sorry for what she's done just what others have done "in her name" coooooool
Because she's not sorry for shit.
she's really proving the point, perfect textbook.
definitely staying true to herself... even in apologies, she's a major asshole.
"It’s been way too long, but we’re finally having conversations about fairness and justice."

lol this phrasing reminds of Mark Ruffalo's "I'm glad we're having this conversation, it's time".
At this point I'm starting to hate the word 'conversation', it's being used by assholes as an attempt to excuse their douchiness.
"We have identified several staffing changes"

Or mayyybe tell Ellen to stop being a twat? I swear my work management is like this. They'll move around staff to make them comfortable but never deal with the assholes at work who cause all the issues.
100%. We have a dictatorial leader at my work who's always going on about "workplace gossip" and how toxic and corrosive it is. Like... we're talking about you, because you're a nightmare. And talking to your coworkers about your stressful work environment ain't gossip.
I'm in a shitty workplace environment right now. Like, four people quit in 3 weeks back in December. I was looking for a job and then corona happened. When my direct supervisor quit, after blasting her in front of the rest of staff (with me still crying at my desk), he then pulled me into his office and asked if I thought everyone was quitting because of him.

No, fuckface, it's because of the plants in the lobby. Derrrrrrrr.
My manager is a fucking arsehole. I’m at work right now (on a break) and I just hate her so much. She’s awful.
Are you me? I have a terrible Manager. Everyone knows she's terrible and has no people skills or empathy. My other bosses, who are great, knew this when they hired her but thought she could learn to be empathetic. Surprise, it didn't work. Now, those good bosses are retiring and I'm seriously considering leaving if I have to work directly with her again. And we've had meeting after meeting about how we just have to adjust to her. Fuck that. She's the problem. Yet everyone tip toes around it instead of addressing it. Ugh. Sorry for the essay rant, but it bugs me so much when everything else about my dept is pretty great and she's the one giant gaping black hole of suck.

i worked in a place where the manager was a straight up bully and at some point it ended in confrontation with another employee who kept calling him out on his shit - literally, a phone flew past me and smashed on the wall, that's how enraged the manager was.

well, since the manager had been there for about 20 years, guess who got sacked? not the manager.
I hate her so fucking much.

Please stop being gay, you make us look bad.
fish rots from the head sis
Lmfao when most of the workplace allegations are levied at her and her producer. Who she gotta check in with but herself?
"my producer gave me carte blanche to be abusive so he's fired."
... relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done

And they did.
This. She sets a rotten tone.
oooh the face of a multi-million dollar brand didn't lose their job. shocking. she's a POS and was never going to suffer any consequences.
People like Ellen who have lived their whole life getting a pass for their bad behavior don't change

Has she always been terrible, or was it something that occurred over time?
Afaik the talk about her creating-having a hostile work environment covers the whole time she's had her talk show, so at least 17 yrs.

Undoubtedly she's always been a garbage human, but likely never had enough clout to be a proper nightmare until she had her own show and this level of fame.
"We have identified several staffing changes"

UM so who lost their job?
No one important enough on the management hierarchy to lose it probably.
